Two Pi? Love the vibrant yello...

I love finding odd little close-up shots like this from everyday surroundings, and the bumps catch the light really well. Lots of detail and lovely colour.
comment byMayo at 10:54 PM (GMT) on 5 December, 2005
For a shot of something so inherently dirty, its a very 'clean' photo. The additional imbedded tire marks really make the yello stand out - very nice.
what (and how) are the (vignetted) faded black areas in the left and bottom right corners? were they part of the original shot or added after the event?
I have been coming back to chromasia for quite a while, and have to say that on the whole, the photos are really great to look at - both in passing, and in more depth. the comments are an endless source of 'educational' critisism and discussion... I thought I'd join in at some point, too.

I love trying to guess where in Blackpool these pics are, but this one I'm struggling with!

Something like this would catch my eye too. I do like taking pictures of certain road markings. Can I ask what sort of processing you did to this? Much levels adjusting? Did you make the yellow much more defined?

i like the texture but somehow, this picture doesnt work for me..... a little too abstract maybe

Lovely. Just my cup of tea. (Although as it's 35 degrees down under at the moment, I'd rather have a beer) :) Good work Dave.

The detail and the textures are really interesting. I like how you can't tell what is written with the paint.

Wonderful detail here. I agree with the above comments too; although, it seems almost to "clean" to be true... Maybe that is why I like it so much...

Yes, this is great, and I love most of your photos....the mood they portray. I especially like your post processing, please do tell what your workflow is in Photoshop.

Lovely shot! I'll never know what in the road this could be but I keep studying thinking that it will come to me. I may have to stick with the first comment about 2 pi. The detail in this is great. Needed your inspiration during my vacation over the weekend!!

Thanks everyone. As for the road markings seeming to be really clean – it had been raining for a while ;-)

Thought provoking and ".... may ask ..... , how did this happen?" Good to look at, thinking of the heavy truck that made those tire marks. Probably making a delivery somewhere. And, how long ago was the corrective asphalt placed on the 2 lines? And.... on. Fun site, like it!

A friend said I should check this site out and I'm glad I did. The shots I've seen thus far are all lovely and I look forward to seeing more. I'm an amature photographer with my own photoblog too if you'd like to see them sometime it is in the URL posted.
What can you say about road-markings? Nothing much, at least not after a day at work, beyond the fact that they caught my eye.
