This cannot be true! First of all I have to say, that I am visiting your site every day to get a glimpse at your fantastic new images and as a photography-interested guy I share great respect for the time you put into this and the high quality photographs you put out all the time.
I wish I had enough time to maintain a website dedicated to my hobby, too and hopefully will have it in the future. I especially like your site, because the way you photograph and look at things with the camera is in a way similar to my photographic approach, but still different enough to be a huge inspirational source.
But anyway, this shot made my jaw drop, since in my normal work I see these two guys every day and I have probably made thousands of photographs of these masks! And since you did not reveal too much information about the shot I am desperately wanting to know where, how and why (okay, the last one is nonsense probably) you took this shot! So please, tell us more.

George: this was taken in a shop on Blackpool's seafront. By the way, I had a look at the maskworld.com site and couldn't work out which ones these are. Could you let me know?

WOW!!! I am not a photographer but visit your site every day (almost) to see your wonderful shots.
Would it be possible to use photoshop to distort ordinary faces to look like this?
I am continually blown away by your photographs. Thank you!
comment byRock at 11:50 PM (GMT) on 20 December, 2005
Not a lot like the 1949 movie "The Third Man", directed by Carol Reed, except for the dark, moody lighting. But it certainly reminds me of the Major Calloway (Trevor Howard) quote to Holly Martins (Joseph Cotten), "You were born to be murdered." It is one of my favorite movies and this is on of my favorites of your shots.

I like the amount of detail on the right face. It looks like the reflection has a different expression, am I missing something?
comment by Rob at 01:59 AM (GMT) on 21 December, 2005
Nice comeback from yesterday. A bit different for Chromasia and very nicely done. As already noted, the tonal quality is superb. Your artistic range Dave is just terrific. That you can "see" all of these different image styles is really impressive and inspiring. Thanks once again.
