Well, it's been a crap weekend for photography so far, but I did some serious archive raiding earlier this evening and came up with this one. Tomorrow, John is coming over, so I'm hoping we'll manage to get a decent set of shots.

Cool shot. I wish I had such leftovers in my archives :)
What is it? Is it a reflection of the bicke on a wet and icy pavement? Or are the white chips part of the pavement? Nice colour too.

Like the bike shot. Any clues on how you came up with this? I've also go a bike shot up today but mine is much more grim.

I really like this. Very creative. I love the angle of the person on the bike. It looks like (s)he's going a wheelie or something - is it true? I also like the white everywhere (what is it?) - it really makes this so much more abstract.
comment byFellow Eskimo at 01:30 AM (GMT) on 15 January, 2006
Oh, I really do like it...looks like snow almost. Is it a filter or something? (dumb question?) Aha! Its a reflection on concrete with water on it? Am I slow or what? Ok, enough questions. I love it :)
comment bydjn1 at 01:53 AM (GMT) on 15 January, 2006
To explain: this is an inverted reflection of a guy doing a wheelie on white flecked concrete. The post-processing involved a large increase in contrast, some playing around with a Curve to emphasis the blue in the shot, and a boost to the saturation.

What a great find for an archive shot. Looks like a reflection in a puddle, but it almost seems like snow is falling. Great shot.
comment byRobert at 03:00 AM (GMT) on 15 January, 2006
I like how the crop gives you a little pause before you realize it's a reflection, and before you said it was inverted, I was wondering where you could be standing to get the shot from that angle!

It's good. Dynamic. Original.

Even without the explaination I love it. The effect is excellent and it continues to amaze me your creativity in Photoshop.

David,
What you call a "save" others would be proud of. While I really love your people shots, this is very interesting too.
BTW, you indicate you use C1 Pro - - what are the steps you typically take using C1 versus those taken using Photoshop? For us newbies, what is the real tradeoff between C1 Pro and Lite?

I like this. Clever use of a reflection. The stones in the tarmac initally looked like water spray.

Thanks everyone. Despite this being a 'rescued from the archives' shot, I do quite like it, so it's good to get some positive feedback.
