This is something of a simple image in comparison to the last four HDR images that I've put up, but a) I don't have any more to share with you at the moment (though may have by the end of tomorrow), and b) don't have anything else to put up anyway. That said, I do like the simplicity of signage such as this.
Oh, and just a quick reminder to let you know that John Washington's site is currently running at washingtonmedia.co.uk rather than johnwashington.co.uk. Apparently John has sorted out the mixup with his domain registration but it will take a day or so for the DNS changes to propagate.

The colors AND the subtle reflection... great image.
comment bynuno f at 08:25 PM (GMT) on 28 February, 2006
Simple and creative. The colors are very vivid and pleasant and the broken details of the sign makes this photo.
David, I think the cropping information in the EXIF data is incorrect.
comment byJon at 08:25 PM (GMT) on 28 February, 2006
Oh so simple but it works, nice one.
comment byGavin at 08:27 PM (GMT) on 28 February, 2006
Wonderful colours, simple but effective! Your surge of HDR images on chromasia recently has opened a whole new world in photography for me. They've been fantastic, & thank you!

Nice image, glad your not meaning this as a literal reference to the site tho!
Love the reflections and the colours, very subtle and bold at the same time.
Signage always seems a bit of a cliche at, but the colours distracted me from that.
I always love black, yellow and white, but in this case I think the greens and blues are the eye catchers ;)
comment bydcr at 08:56 PM (GMT) on 28 February, 2006
That sign has seen some action. It looks pretty beat up. Just wondering what kind of shop it was.
comment byjohn at 09:22 PM (GMT) on 28 February, 2006
I had to click through just to see if you were closing the site. :-)
comment bydjn1 at 09:27 PM (GMT) on 28 February, 2006
john: lol, no, but it would be a good one to use if I ever do decide to shut up shop. If you see it appear again at some later date, it's probably bad news ;-)
comment byryan at 10:05 PM (GMT) on 28 February, 2006
Scared me! I had the same reaction as John. I thought you were closing down! Relieved now.
comment byJeet at 10:33 PM (GMT) on 28 February, 2006
You captured the colours very nicely. The signboard looks battered, what kind of shop is it?
comment bydjn1 at 10:35 PM (GMT) on 28 February, 2006
dcr and Jeet: I'm not sure – I wasn't paying much attention – but I think it was a café.
comment byJem at 11:06 PM (GMT) on 28 February, 2006
I'm loving your HDR images up to press Dave - but you know that already :P
Despite this being a relatively simple shot, I like it. I like the sharpness and the complimentary colours. Nice choice with the square format too :)

Beautiful, the yellow of the sign is beautifully set off by the green/blue background
comment byNavin Harish at 08:11 AM (GMT) on 1 March, 2006
Nice colours and contrast. The reflection in the glass makes it even better.
comment bySteveO at 09:19 AM (GMT) on 1 March, 2006
Thats pretty cool, i like the crop and the colours.
If the sign had been straight it would have lost the impact...now how did you arrange that ? :-) Looks like 70's style writing have they been shut that long ? Has a lot of meanings this phrase. Nice shot.
comment byMikesRightBrain at 06:51 PM (GMT) on 1 March, 2006
Very nice. I love that green string; the dynamics of the image would have been so much less without it!
comment byEllie at 07:30 PM (GMT) on 1 March, 2006
Awesome picture! Consider posting this on www.thevisualdictionary.net (its a cool site to check out) i really like the simplicity of this, i nearly thought that Chromasia was closed for the day! It looks like the sign is hanging mid air...

comment by David at 08:46 PM (GMT) on 1 March, 2006
I sense a starkness to this. Because of the proximity of the sign, it also implies BUGGER OFF! -anyone agree? David, I've become a fan of the site. The technical detail in some of your photos is impressive.
comment bydavid at 08:54 PM (GMT) on 1 March, 2006

I suppose when you've been putting up fantastic shots most of the time, even a shot as bland as this one can still stir much compliments. (And most of your pictures are great.)
