So, as promised, here's the fifth portrait this week. In many ways this was the most difficult as Amirah (our 12 year old) is a lot more conscious of how she looks, and, more importantly, how she wants to look: so the postprocessing for this one was very much a joint effort of the "do you like that?", "no", "is that better?", "yes", variety :-)

LOL, good team effort! She looks beautiful in this shot. Sounds like a typical 12-yo as well.... Very well framed.

Chuckle.... my 16 yr old daughter use to hide from my camera - but since going digital she will sometimes sit - as long as I use the healing brush and some gaussian blur! Beautiful subject and photograph!

Beautiful portrait. I was caught by her eyes. From all your last portraits, I prefer "portrait week #3". It's more original and creative.

Nice, very nice. How do you position and use your flashes? I would have loved a little more light in the eye reflections. I can't even spot the flash usage, good work.

My 12yr old is nagging me to do some headshots for her, i hope i can come out with something like this. She not only wants to model, she also wants to direct the shoot. This is a really good shot of a very pretty girl. Excellent addition to the series. - [Chuks]

The joint effort worked out nicely...it's a most beautiful portrait. I have a daughter named Amara. I wonder if our children's names are pronounced the same. I always tell folks that it rhymes with 'camera.'

A beautiful portrait of a beutiful young woman, and a nice finale to a great week of shots that I've been hoping to see for many, many weeks. Thank you and thanks to your beautiful children. (Please kindly remind Finley we hold his I.O.U.)

her eyes and the diamond of her earring, the missing pupil ! The darkness made light by her radiate smile. you captured something I think not she is aware...Mona Lisa watch out.
Great shot!
I think I like this one the best out of all of your "portrait week" shots.

David, this is absolutely stunning. Breathtaking. Heartwarming and soft. Fabulous job with the skin tones. The shadows are really special here. They softly conceal and leave you satisfied at the contours. There focus on her ears are a wee bit soft, but man -- who cares. :-) You've done an excellent job. Your little girl should be really happy with this!
She looks so beautiful! Very intriguing! I love her deep brown eyes and the way she's looking at the camera. I also love her little diamond earrings. Were she to turn to modeling, she should have this in her portfolio.

Nice - though I'd bet that if you trim her eyebrows a little more, she would be a little more pleased about her physical appearance.
