Assuming it doesn't rain tomorrow (the weather report is looking good so far) Camilla and I are off to the beach as I have an idea for some shots that I want to try out.
In the meanwhile, this is all I have left to put up. It's not especially striking, and I must have shot hundreds of this type of image, but there was something about the colours and textures that I liked with this one.

I like how the grout turned out in between the bricks. It has a nice texture to it.

I like this it's simple, pleasing to the eye and the use of blur has enhanced the image. I suspect most folk would not see this as a potential post walking by it, so well spotted....
The lines and the 3d feeling are great on this ones. The blue works as well.

Great spot, the colours and shapes are amazing. Unlike the other comments so far, I think the blur detracts from the image ( if this was added in PS, I'd love to see the original ).

I'm such a sucker for shots that have a specific focus. Or whatever you want to call it in photography-lingo.
I'd have to agree with EssPea, the sense of space in this photo is great.

Dave, I hate the fact that I only seem to comment when I don't like something but I thing the last four shots have been my least favourite for a long whle. I hope you find some better stuff in Blackpool tomorrow.
Give me landscapes of the coast any time!
Mind, my posts have been so far and between you must be doing something right!

I recently discovered your website and I've got to tell you I'm very impressed. This image I particularly enjoyed. It is simple yet my eye keeps crawling aorund theimage, admiring the focal points and the vignetting. Reminds me of a Modrian (sp?) painting. As a primarily outdoor photographer, your work inspires me to take broader notice of the other parts of our world. Thanks. -Dave

A very impressive shot of a very ordinary thing. Is that the shallow DOF or you have used something like a lensbaby to take this picture.

I find the focal point confusing. It is just right of the corner, isn't it? Nice pattern andI do not wish to generate a story from that. Just aesthetically pleasing tone and shape.

very nice colour tones. this picture has a touch of "holga shot" :-))
kind regards and a nice weekend.

Well, nice DOF and composition but the motive is kind of boring and I expected some more brightness.

Mondrian sans Prozac.....
Which is appropriate as it conjures up the cold and vaguely sinister mood of a seedy urban underpass.
Deconstructed segments seep slivers of inevitable decompostion and decay. The 70's town-planner's dream of inspirational aesthetics for the masses yielding to time's unforgiving march to reveal its pret-a-porter short shelf-life.
I love the patch of illumination ....high resolution that craves to draw the eye to the textural beauty of the tiles but is defeated by the subtle ghost of a shadow that disappears around the corner....
You done good innit, DJ. :)

I appreciate the lighting in this shot on the right of frame and the shadowing on the left of frame.
... not overdone.
I love this pic! This is completely ( english?) my kind of photograph
The vignetting goes perfect with the black theme. This is a nice change of pace and great shot.

I like it. Nice colours and I like the pattern. How I wish you'd post a turorial on how to get that 'Chromasia look'!
Thanks all :-)
