I had hoped to get out and about today, but I've had loads of work to do (which, currently, has taken about three times longer than I expected – I'm now about half way through), I've got a stinking cold, and the weather here has been awful. We had a couple of great weeks – sun, gentle breezes, and so on – but the last couple of days have been wet and windy. Given the usual state of play with UK weather, I expect that it's probably autumn already ;-)
So, in the absence of anything else, here's another one from the Sony Cyber-shot project I mentioned yesterday. This was shot through the sun strip on our car windscreen – hence the overall blue cast – and other than stretching it to a 3x2 aspect ratio, that's pretty much all that was done with this one.
And thanks for all the computer/server advice yesterday: it's much appreciated.
On an unrelated matter: for those of you interested in weekly challenge sites (Photo Friday, for example) you might want to check out a new one: Tuesday Challenge. It works in much the same way as other challenge sites; i.e. there's a weekly theme, and the first theme, fittingly enough, is Start.

this project that your plugging on the sly... building up plenty of anticipation for (which is pretty commendable!), have you thought about how you are going to be presenting it??? I'm working on several projects at the moment and decided to choose flickr as the base for most of them (a couple are collaboration orientated so it made sense)... Just curios is all ;)
The shot kinda looks like some sort of post nuclear winter storm or something?
JD: don't get too excited. Anticipation is one thing, but an unjustified expectation that it's going to be entirely wonderful is something else entirely ;-) As for presentation: it will be presented here on chromasia – well, on a different bit of the site – and somewhere else too. Hopefully I'll be able to tell you all about it in the next week or so.

Funny to see that yesterday and today's photos have blue as the master tone. Maybe your project is related with daily scenes using independent tonal ranges? :-)
john: as compact cameras go I've been pretty impressed, especially since it's really quite small.
Karl: well what?

I miss the halcyon days of Chromasia, they seem to be getting more and more distant.

Blue Highway. There is a strong sense of motion and a bit of vertigo to this shot that works well. From an American perspective, this looks to have been taken from the back wndow, a look where you've been. I know it's the opposite but it's hard to fight the learned perspectives we acquire. When I put my Commonwealth hat on, I can go, ah, yes, I see it now. Not your intent, but I feel mid-journey between those two perspectives.

I think this is great. The colours are fab, and the blur gives it a real sense of speed. I haven't been on for a few days, but have enjoyed catching up.
good use of the tungsten concept- i bet it really wasn't this blue, but the overall effect was superb

This is actually one of my favorite shots of yours. It's dreamy and moody. Almost looks like it could be a still from the beginning Kieslowski's "Blue", when they're in the car. I may have to look into a Cybershot to supplement my dslr.
It doesn't do much for me I'm afraid.. there seems to be no focus at all... the abstraction is a step too far for me.. I guess I need to see more detail and a focal point of some kind.. Wish I could be more positive.
The blue is great but otherwise it just seems like an out of focus snap to me....and I can take THOSE.....

It looks to me like it was a snapshot of the television David, dunno if I like it or not...

I've tried doing this - with a 30D - with parents in the car.
Didn't work out too well...
Anvi: no, if you were driving at the time I can see that they might not be overly impressed ;-)
Lost Highway...eh... I like it. Gives a sense of speed I think.

seems like the blue is grey and mooving ... gives a strange feeling !
It has a nice soft feel to it and since I like blue this scores very well with me!
So what do you think of the T9? Nice camera? When I first saw this, I thought, "Lensbaby." It looks as though the car was skidding out of control. :-)
nice capture! love the blue theme. makes it feel like a nightmare that one would have afer a really long interstate drive.
well ...
nuno: no ;-)

Clearly this wasn't one of your favourites, but I'm glad that some of you liked it.
