Camilla and I went down to the beach this morning and I took this one as she walked down towards the shoreline. I have a slightly more playful one for tomorrow.

May have worked better in colour? The background tones in banks of grey don't really creat the right effect for me.. and the lack of white and lighter tones hampers what compositionaly is a sound shot. The potential for the colour in the wellies and the denim could be realy effective against a muted background.. just some thoughts.. I must say Life for you is a beach.. it seems to be the place where you get your best shots and most inspiration.
Croz: I did try this one in colour, but didn't think it worked all that well. This version is about the light, shapes and textures. The colour version detracted from those elements, and for me at least was a much weaker shot.

I was going to ask how many containers one man can find during a walk on the beach, however I can now see that the answer is 3. ;-) Loving the asymmetry of the shot, from the composition to the way she is walking. Nice shot Dave.

The best you've done for ages mate, i love the depth of field the long lens has given, the composition and your black and white treatment are superb, nice one.

David, this is my favorite of the 3 with Camilla at the beach. The jumping shots are great but this one communicates more to me. The expression in the hands, the dress flapping, the feet movement. Cutting her off mid torso is also perfect. It makes you want to track with the shot to see who is walking and what her face is expressing. This is true of the 3 in this series, but especially in this one. Thanks for sharing.

I like the capital A type shape, the way both arms are parallel with the sides of her skirt, even though one side's diagonal.
I'm sure there must've been a less confusing way to say that.
How cool is that. I like the boots.
great shot. love the tones and as mat said the boots and the way she's walking. the angle is also very nice.
Great shot. great tones. love it
Beautiful shot!!
The composition is nice. I like this. :-)
Just wanted to say that this is a very beautiful photo. You should really be proud of this one.
Very clean shot.
I find it somewhat incongruous or awkward. But, as a result, it makes me want to stop and examine it closer. Nice!
Love the tones. Great work as usual! Thumbs up!
Wonderful image, as always. In this one, I really enjoy the curiosity it embodies... there's a playfulness to the frame as well.
like the tones and the cleanness.
This is simply a fantastic shot with so much impact.
Lovely intriguing shot. I think that the in-camera crop from the elbows upwards is just right and there's a great sense of dynamic motion.
The framing is just perfect, I like the position/posture of the right hand the shoues are simply cute

Love the tones and composition, well composed.
