I don't have much to say about this one other than that it's a shot of Harmory on the beach being cute.
To follow up on yesterday's discussion (regarding the flash gallery): it seems that it requires a minimum of flash 8 to run, hence the reason a few of you didn't get to see the images. I'll keep playing around with this until I come up with something a bit more robust.

Good portrait of Harmony. She is really photogenic.
Yesterda, I tried your flash gallery and I didn't had any trouble viewing it using firefox, internet explorer and flock. I've installed Flash 9 version last week and it all worked smooth. :-)

Your children are so cute! I enjoy seeing pics of them. I like how you use depth of field when taking pics of them. You make it all about them. Awesome!

Beautiful shot, DJN.
It’s very interesting to compare this with the bold, vivid shots of this time last year—which I love—and to see the gentle, desaturated, green tone that’s evolved lately—which I think I like, too...

because you shoot everything well. You are a great inspiration to many photogs.

Beautiful pose, lovely bokeh. I'd prefer a more saturated version, but this is very nice. I have a young daughter of my own so I have a soft spot for photos like this one.

I have always thought, and still do, that you're best work is your photography of your kids. This is fantastic like all the rest.
Thanks all, and I'll pick up on some of your points tomorrow. Right now I'm too tired to even think, let alone type.

Hi Dave,
Super shot of your adorable daughter. Interesting treatment of the image tones and typical of your more recent posts I feel, which display more moody, subtle colours rather than the super bold colours of old. Is this 'dulling down' of late done on purpose?
I can't help but ask myself why you put this shot up though. Aside from the understandable pride you have as her father and will no doubt want the whole world to see how wonderful she is, this image doesn't strike me as anything more than a snapshot. The sort of shot any of us can achieve at 200mm focal length.
It just doesn't stand out all that much.
I know this post is a bit late and you have already put another (excellent) shot up but I gave it some thought yesterday and again this morning and eventually decided to swim against the sycophantic tide of adoring comments and question why you chose this image as it doesn't really do much for me and its style isn't what I have become accustomed to seeing or expecting from you!
Antony: I guess, for me at least, this is elevated beyond being just a "snapshot" for two reasons: first, because it captures something about her; i.e. it's a defining moment if you like, and second, because the post-processing was tailored towards enhancing the mood and feel of the shot.
I do take your point though about this not being my usual style, but personally I think this is a much better shot than the "excellent" one you refer to in your final paragraph.
I guess the bottom-line though is that we each have our preferences and our own views about what makes a good photograph.

Dave,
Thanks so much for the response and having considered your comments I agree with you because you will always post images that mean something to you rather than images that you think will be popular.
I do defenitely see a more sombre feel to your work lateley and find it (personally) less appealing but this is your domain and it is your call what goes online.
The bottom line is that I still visit each day and more often than not admire your offerings.
All the best!

Lovely shot. Great depth of field and detail on subject. Like the colouring aspect of this photo as well, makes it appealing to the eye.
Awww - she does 'cute' VERY well! :-)
you do have the most beautiful children
Beautiful image, she's very very cute.
*Very* cute - kids rock!
Like most others, I almost always like your post-production, but this time I'm speechless! The colours and tones in this are just spellbinding.

great candid shot...love the tones....almost pastel....
This came out fantastic. I think I like how well her hair was captured the most. The detail and "frizziness" just adds character to the shot.
great shot..
wow, where do u find them, so lovely and so cute....great portret, cool tones of color, cool dof and detail of her hair...lovely
About the Flash gallery: you're using SlideShowPro, right? When you export the movie, you can choose to make it Flash 7 compatible.
I really like these simple and personal photos, especially when the colors are just a bit desaturated (or even b&w). Great job, as usual :)
Yes indeed she is cute and I quite like the colour treatment on this shot
all i can say is: awwwwwwwwwwwwww
Great photograph, greater caption and of course, the cute kid takes away the cake.
Fantastic!
Something to put in your portfolio!
Absolutely perfect post-processing!
Love this shot...
Contetnt: Beautiful and full of life!
Technical: Nice colors, great DOF, great post processing like always.
For the Flash slideshow I think Eirik is right.
so so cute, i love your portraits, when i grow up, i wanna be like you XDD
Absolutely fantastic!
Hehehee. There's going to be big amount of picture-books for her to keep from childhood :)
Really great pic.
Just ordered Nikon D50 with nikkor AF-S 18-55mm and 55-200m kit lenses :)
Waiting is pure agony..
Finally, a real photograph!
What an aptly titled picture. :)
Great stuff David and definately an image to treasure for years to come...
She has developed a sort of empathy with your camera and is always so spontaneous... great shot!
I love this girl to pieces :)
amazing the colours effect, just love the way clothes, skin and background integrate to each other. Very harmorycal ;)
lovely colours...
on a side note, I don't know if anyone has told you, but the mouse over title dialogue spreads across the whole browser window in IE7.
