This is the second shot from the TVR Back Home 2006 meetup I attended yesterday. What I didn't mention yesterday was that these were taken for a commission from Blackpool Tourism to photograph this event. The brief I was given included two major elements: first, to produce shots congruent with my normal style on chromasia, and second, to attempt to locate the event in its environment: i.e. show that it was taking place in Blackpool. Yesterday's shot, unless you're extremely familiar with the local architecture, didn't really meet the second aim, but I think that this one, with the inclusion of the tower, does a much better job.
On another matter: if you've emailed me during the last week or so and I haven't replied, don't worry, I will catch up.

Yes he has, it looks fine to me. I love the contrast between the color of the car and the logo, and also the tower off in the distance. Well done, and can't wait to see more...

It's as it should be now, obviously just a minor glitch, well composed and processed..

Congratulations on the commission. I would instantly recognise this as Blackpool, so second aim accomplished. I find the reflection of the lights(?) on the bonnet a little distracting though.
Jamie: I don't mind the reflected lights, not least because they're also a pervasive feature of Blackpool's seafront. As for a discount: it would need to be a pretty substantial one ;-)

If the tower was meant to be there, wouldn't a less shallow depth of field been more conducive? It is a little merged. I like the focal point and positioning of the TVR logo. I quite like the shadow of the logo too. Adds dynacism.
I think TVR are now owned by a young Russian.

Is it me, or does it seems to have more jpeg artifacts than your usual images?
I love the smooth blue and the sharp contrast of the gold logo.

The tower places it at the scene, but the buildings behind the car are distracting. I prefered yesterdays.
Wotcha, Dave. Nice shot: does what it says on the tin, etc! Re. last night's comment: Little Kev is a TVR owner of my aquaintance who's also a stroppy little little bugger: if you'd have encountered him, you'd certainly remember!
Re. gushy comment: last night I had sampled absinthe in no small quantity: it's like psychotropic mouthwash! Stick to wine, mate!

Very cool. This would make an awesome computer background as well. I think this meets your goals beautifuly.

great !! I like this one better... but yes, the building, with what looks like scaffolds, is a bit distracting..

This is a great shot but I would have preferred the car you posted yesterday in this shot, the pink would have stod out a lot more than a blue car in front of a blue sky.

Brilliant, i love TVRs, my uncle used to work for the TVR tuscan race team as a mechanic and i got a tour of the factory a while back, i love these cars. Nice shot too :-)

More of the cars, djn1 :) You cannot let us out on such beautiful cars :)
Both shots so far has the chromasia-look, and it's impressive to see how you manage to do it even with subjects like this.
i like the shadow of the tvr logo, but the building in the background is awful and i dont understand why you didnt go for more depth of field to bring the tower into focus a bit more. would of been more striking as a straight bonnet shot because i like the blue and the shadow.

Hi David - no picture showing at this end yet, just the comments and a small white box.
Mike: my mistake, I've fixed it now.
You haven't, the picture appears unsharp and the TVR logo is missing..
It's working..and working well! Cool image and I think you matched all requirements of the brief!

Will you get a discount on a new TVR? :)
Another cracker

Wonderful details. Thumbs up from here!
I like the smooth blue color. a peaceful feeling. :)
First time I visit this photoblog and already a great automotive shot in view.
I'll be back, for sure.
Great colors! I adicted to blue.
Isn't the building in the back somewhat distracting?

Thanks everyone.
As for the building in the background: I couldn't move the car, and I couldn't move the tower, so I had to include the building.
I keep wanting to move the TVR badge a bit higher in the frame.
