I don't have much to say about this one. In fact, I don't have anything to say about it other than that I like it. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts though.

I imagine this man explaining something to his wife that he really does not understand, but would never admit. She happily and knowingly says, "oh really? That is fascinating honey."
Wonderful image. I would love to get some monochrome advice from you one of these days.

Very "cinematic" - like many of your shots you've captured a moment which encourages people to fill in their own narrative, rather than simply placing people in a landscape just for scale or "human interest".
Interesting toning as well, is it a slight blue/yellow curve adjustment? I really must learn more about photoshop, I'm still not happy with my toning attempts! Did you recommend a book once?
Anyway, good work!

awesome image, as usual... question - is there stitching in this photo? Looks like there's a bit in the wave just left of center. is that a natural vertical line?

It's okay to me.. the processing is good though. but mattp and mikeb. Dave's doing a tutorial subscription you should look into. http://www.chromasia.com/tutorials

love the way you set the horizon in your pictures. I wonder if this one would have looked better if the sky and water had contrasting colours... nevertheless, this one has an amazing sense of time and space

Wihtout those people on the pic it would be empty and nothing, but that they're there it's simply great pic.

This one has many possible stories: "which way to San Jose? ", "walk on the water" "Did you lost your boat too?" and so on....well, very cinematic as mattp mentioned. I like these timeless pictures, and this one is very artistic too.

Nice one and I think it will also work without the 2 people.
I like the tone.

There is something about your site of late that has a certain glassy finish. Almost as if this new layout andthe addition of a second site has left you invigorated and thus transferred to the web. The images have been very crisp and clean. I like that. I like this. The gesture of the figure to the right conveys happiness...
Not as impressive as some of the stuff you've been posting, but still good. Usually the shots with a wide view and small humans makes me feel about how small humans are comparebed to our world, this one seems empty though.
I like the converting lines and the fact that they are not just standing there, but actually doing something. Your colour toning is great as always. If there is one thing I miss on this photoblog, then it is to see more of Blackpool city. I feel, I know the beach very well by now ;)
They look like statues standing in the waves, because of their blue colour. Could imagine them getting covered with the sea, and emerging hours later, with the same postures.

I like the way the clouds look like soaring birds.

nice scene ... i like the colors

While the scene is simple and interesting (i like the lines the waves make) it seems a little uninspiring. The image seems fuzzy and contrasts tuned up too high in the water.

This is simple yet effective. I've seen many shots like this but as usual, the color makes it I think.

I guess I have seen enough beach shots with this colour treatment and would like see the naturela colours once again. What I like is the gestures of the two people. It seems like the woman has stopped to ask for some directions and the man is telling her how to get there. This gives birth to so many stories in my mind.
toning is great as ever, I also like the interlocking V's in the foreground...
out of interest how do you decide when/ when not to apply toning to an image? I've noticed that it's become a regular treatment for chromasia...has become a routine part of your workflow like say sharpening?

Thanks everyone.
m i k e b and mattp: toning is something I'll be covering in the tutorials.
Thom: it's a natural vertical line, though I agree, it does look a bit odd.
[PIXEL VIKING]: I'll probably do some more shots around town at some point.
nature boy: it may be that our monitors are calibrated a bit differently as this seems quite a warm tone to me.
nev: I normally tone all my images, to one extent or another, but I guess you're right, it has bee a little more pronounced of late.

Very simple and beautiful photo.
Great posture on the guy on the right - the converging lines make this shot to me.
sorry not a fan of the toning on this one, it makes the scene too cold which contradicts what the people are wearing (jusy my opinion though)
Beautiful minimal...
I like the tones, it gives a wonderful old timey feel to this image. It's one of those "warms your heart and makes you smile" shots.
