This one was shot in the same location as yesterday's – one of the stairwells where I work – and used much the same technique; i.e. rotating the camera during the exposure. And while a few of you came pretty close in stating that yesterday's shot was a stairwell, none of you got it quite right, mostly because what appeared to be shafts of light was actually the metal treads at the edges of the stairs.
Today's, on the other hand, is a shot of the railings at the top of the stairs. On the whole, I think I prefer this one, but I'd be interested to hear which you prefer.

Mmmm, very interesting to learn where the shots were taken.
I like this one more, probably because of the colors (I like the blues more), though I do like how the previous shot is more abstract. (This shot is easier for me to pick out the stairs, or maybe it's just that I spot them after knowing what the target is.)
Both are great shots, though!

A nice effect; you'll be joining the Flickr camera toss group next...

Yep, now that you've explained it, I can see it :)
I prefer yesterday's. In fact, today's doesn't do anything for me at all. Fun technique though. Hooray for experimentation!

I like this one. The smooth curves are very pleasing to my eye.

This is awesome. I love both of the shots, but I think I prefer yesterday's because of the moody quality. Amazing, anyways.

If you work where I think you work, then yeah, I can imagine this shot being taken there.
I like this and yesterdays shot, I'll probably try something of this nature soon, although I doubt it'll be on the same level as yours or Johns

I prefer today's shot. There's a lovely combination of blues, blacks and yellow, and the grain is really nice. Interesting effect.

I prefer the elegance of yesterday's image to this one's chaotic feel.
If you had not told me I would never have guessed. Interesting effect. I think John has had an effect on us all. See my post today!

I also prefer yesterday's, I love the "feeling" of it if you will. Nothing to do with technique (or that I was the closest guess!). It really has an underwater feeling that relates to me more than this one - which by the way I would have guessed was a ride at an amusement park!

I love this one. I love most of your abstract work. The subtle blue and the yellowish white are (for lack of a better word) smooth looking colours. I love the lines too!!

I prefer yesterdays image. Where does the GIF-style dithering on this one come from?

Mmm it has to be said this is one of only times on here that I have to say I really don't like this shot at all Dave :(
It does nothing for me at all sorry.

I prefer yesterday's shot. It evokes emotion - awe and mystery. This one is just light. Lovely light, but that's all.
Roy's camera toss link - yikes but cool! Care to risk any of your cameras Dave?

Between the two, I prefer the first one. it's a matter of personal taste I guess. I do like the effect - much post processing?
