Pete: you made me laugh out loud, very funny. This is a pretty neat image. I have to wonder though, is LAB a sub-culture or a counter-culture? I would argue that it is a sub-culture because there doesn't seem to be the same purist debate like, say film vs. digital. Just thinking out loud. David, if you become a LAB purist please don't forget us little guys back here at your RGB roots ;-)

I remember when I was a kid, the people from Muncipial corporations used to come and spray insecticied in the open drains and itused to make a really great pattern of beautiful colours. The colours in this shot remind me of that.

All I can think of is how would Dan Margulis process this? Hahaha.... I do like the tilt, and the purple too.

Fraction of light and petrol does amazing colours despite the crap it leaves on. I first think of a) then b) and worry about colour profile last.

Seen this may times, but I never take a picture of it ;-) So... like this one. Great colours!

I thought it was one of those shots, of which I have many, where your camera just goes off as you're walking along

The colours and texture are great. It looks like the ground sloped away from the bottom left hand corner hence the fall off in sharpness which to me at least is a little distracting. I admire you for both spotting the potential of the scene and actually stopping to capture it!

Nice capture. I'm amazed at how beautiful the most mundane things can turn out when we have a camera in our hands....

How to tell if you're a Photoshop geek ...
You're walking down the road and you notice some petrol spilt on a wet concrete pavement. You think:
a) that's pretty.
b) I hate this sort of urban pollution.
c) LAB color mode.
And if you don't get it, you needn't worry, it just means that you're not a geek ;-)
