I know, it's remarkably similar to yesterday's shot, but a) I didn't manage to get out today and don't have anything else to put up, and b) I'd be interested to hear how you think the two shots compare. Personally, I much prefer yesterday's, but Libby says she thinks this one's a lot better. Let me know what you think.
Update: apologies for the lack of an update, but I've come down with a fairly unpleasant cold and don't have anything to put up. I'll try and put something up later today (Saturday) or tomorrow.

Much prefer today’s: works better than the shallow DOF in yesterday’s...
...at least that’s what I think ;-)

Ovidiu: much the same as yesterday's; i.e. a couple of Curves in LAB color mode.
Freddy/Arthur: I suspected as much. Whenever Libby and I disagree, she's normally right ;-)

i would say i personally perfer this one- yesterdays was just too pastel for me- i am a metallic fan rather the lights of the pastels- so way to go to this shot- especially the dead on perspective- it really gives you a sense of being right there- rather yesterday's made you feel so distant with that sort of angle !!!!!!

Today's is better. Although what I found interestin was I didn't like the image too much at first but the thumbnail was much more striking. I think this is one of the shots which needs a little space to be viewed from, and me two feet from my monitor didn't do it justice
comment byGabriel Loeb at 12:39 AM (GMT) on 15 December, 2006
Eh, In a way these two shots put me off. It almost looks like you just threw some crazy curves settings at the images. I like to think that the titan that is chromasia can do better.

This one appears to be a bit soft, but I'm giving the picture and yourself the benefit of the doubt, it must be my eyes at 3am, or my monitor. the colors are great though! I've never used curves in LAB mode, I'll have to give it a shot.
I presume you're excited about the news of the cs3 beta?

See the pretty rocks.
The many spashes of color and texture go very well together. It doesn't look natural but it feels that it could be. All said, I prefer today's because the texture was lost in yesterday's, even if it did have a bit more dimension.

I came to this blog from the web-blog awards. I think that your site is fantastic, your creativity and eye are very good. I will continue to return. oh, I liked yesterdays better, with the focus contrast and colors.

I much prefer this shot. The focus is nice and sharp throughout. The fuzziness in the right hand section of yesterday's post kind of made my eyes feel fuzzy. But it was still a great shot though. As always, you do fantastic work!

i prefer yesterdays, because of the dof my eyes can't catch a point. it looks more strange than the easy frontal shot.

This one, as it allows my eyes to make up patterns in the arrangements of the rocks.

Dear David,
This is the first time I am commenting on your blog. I have been a number one fan of your past work. We really need to see those kind of photos were nothing but stunning. Some fans do tend to fall in love with whatever you post. Please come back with photos like - the tower, the rocks which were processed with the highest quality and dedication, the breathtaking portrait shots.
I visit your web site every single day. The variations and the 'quality' in your past work has made you number '1' on several websites. Please get back in form.
