I managed to get out for an hour today, up to Fleetwood with John, and probably managed to get one or two shots that I'll put up. I suspect that this one may turn out to be my favourite.

Simple, but effective, and wonderfully restful..

Great shot

I really like the cool blue tones

comment by Gavin at 09:28 PM (GMT) on 17 December, 2006

Wonderful! Loving those reflections.

It's a simple composition but it gave me goosebumps. Induced a soothing, sense of floaty reverie. Lovely.

p.s. I was listening to Clint Mansell's haunting score from The Fountain while looking at this photo, which may have been why I liked it so much. It made for a great combination of picture-induced mood and music - worth a try....

The crystalinne capture of a glass sculpture immune to smoke, the elements, and time. A tip of the hat to the artist.

Wow! The reflection is absolute perfect. The colors and the icy landscape makes me feel chilly.

comment by Gabriel Loeb at 09:57 PM (GMT) on 17 December, 2006

Beautiful. I absolutely love the colors in the reflection. The muted blue/grays are just awesome. Its interesting the way the sea divides the sky. Cool shot.

Perfect symmetry broken by the waves. I love the low view-point and brooding atmosphere. Thanks.

I like to see rules broken effectively. "Never split the frame exactly in two", they say. Bollocks, I say.

Nice one.

This is a surreal image which takes some concentration to visualize. You obviously made good use of the light today.

comment by Andrew at 07:17 AM (GMT) on 18 December, 2006

I can see why you like this one it's great. I love the contrast between the mirror smoothness of the sand, the roughness of the waves and the softness of the clouds. i also like the technical points of the composition. It would have been very easy to see the horizon as the key dividing point and matched that two the 3rd but you haven't given in to that. The final thing I like is the way the diagonal waterline notionally intersects with the opposite diagonal in the dark cloud and its reflected counterpart to draw the eyes to the right place. Really Nice.

Glad to see you're feeling better. Wonderful shot, really is beautiful. Do envy you living close to the sea - couldn't be further away here in Derby!

Wonderful... the sea seems like ice a little bit. Great tones and reflections.

comment by Doug at 10:13 AM (GMT) on 18 December, 2006

I think the word 'crystal' springs to mind with this shot.
