This one looks more like a mad lion, like the sphinx!
I love the colors and the selective sharpness. Probably one of my favorites so far.

Methinks this is Aslan , very striking resemblance and well spotted, atop a beach of stones with echoes of the stone table, where the deadly deed was done...

What a great find! There's a rock in New Zealand called Lion's Head; reminded me of that.

Yeh, I think it looks like a lions head too, but it also reminds me of that huge rock in the lion king.

Oops too late for top marks on this - but wonderful to see so many Narnia fans - and a fab photo of course ;-) The only one of the books that I didn't dig as a kid was 'The Horse and His Boy' - never got it - I feel a re-read coming on.

In The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe Aslan is sacrificed on the stone table by the White Witch. The stone table later cracks in half and Aslan returns to life.
