Something something Aslan something something Narnia something something Lion Witch Wardrobe... C.S. Lewis....etc.

comment by Titus at 07:42 PM (GMT) on 20 December, 2006

This one looks more like a mad lion, like the sphinx!
I love the colors and the selective sharpness. Probably one of my favorites so far.

comment by shooter at 07:51 PM (GMT) on 20 December, 2006

Methinks this is Aslan , very striking resemblance and well spotted, atop a beach of stones with echoes of the stone table, where the deadly deed was done...

comment by Bigorno at 07:54 PM (GMT) on 20 December, 2006

The piece of wood looks like a Lion's head.

comment by Jenny at 07:56 PM (GMT) on 20 December, 2006

I'm going to have to say Aslan from C.S Lewis. Really nice resemblance you managed to capture.

comment by Roy at 07:57 PM (GMT) on 20 December, 2006

Narnia came to mind straight away, but I see I was beaten to it ;-)
What a great find! There's a rock in New Zealand called Lion's Head; reminded me of that.

comment by thomas mueller at 08:14 PM (GMT) on 20 December, 2006

one of your best djn.really really great!

comment by {-P-} at 08:16 PM (GMT) on 20 December, 2006

Superbe contrasts. The peace of wood looks like a stone.

comment by Bob at 08:34 PM (GMT) on 20 December, 2006

Cool! Looks just like the Xiezhi of the Sacred Way.

comment by Joseph at 09:49 PM (GMT) on 20 December, 2006

Yeh, I think it looks like a lions head too, but it also reminds me of that huge rock in the lion king.
Beautiful picture, thanks :)

comment by Jennifer at 10:01 PM (GMT) on 20 December, 2006

Oops too late for top marks on this - but wonderful to see so many Narnia fans - and a fab photo of course ;-) The only one of the books that I didn't dig as a kid was 'The Horse and His Boy' - never got it - I feel a re-read coming on.

comment by riesenriel at 10:13 PM (GMT) on 20 December, 2006

comment by Kate at 08:52 AM (GMT) on 21 December, 2006

In The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe Aslan is sacrificed on the stone table by the White Witch. The stone table later cracks in half and Aslan returns to life.
