This one was taken a few seconds after yesterday's and continues the theme of Rhowan being adventurous and Harmony being a little more cautious.
As for the post-processing: I'd be grateful of some feedback on this one – specifically: I produced this one on my new laptop, and on the LCD screen it looks great, but on my CRT it looks a bit flat and dull. How does it appear to you?

I like it - their lovely jumpers make it work!
comment bynferreira at 09:34 PM (GMT) on 5 January, 2007
In my CRT, the colors in the sweaters are not so vivid. Don't know if that was your intention. The rest seem fine to me.
comment bydjn1 at 09:56 PM (GMT) on 5 January, 2007
nferreira: yep, that was intentional, though I think I could probably have made them a little more colourful.

Great to see you posting again, and great to see the kids again =) Great images to start the year off! All around just great.
comment byMark at 10:03 PM (GMT) on 5 January, 2007
drives me nuts that my LCD makes all my photos look great (well as great as they can be) and viewing them on my work CRT makes them look "bleh"...ugh!!!
As to this one....i love what you did with the coloring of the entire photo, but yeah, my work CRT shows the shot lacking some contrast...the whites dont seem as white....im sure when i view on my LCD at home, this picture will POP!
comment byhwasung at 10:05 PM (GMT) on 5 January, 2007
Looks great on my laptop monitor. Though it becomes a little dull in my CRT monitor, overall it looks great. I especially like Harmony's facial expression and Rhowan's hair color.

I'm looking at this on my laptop and it looks great! I prefer the subdued colours to the two other versions.

Looks the same on my LCDs (MacBook Pro and iBook—both with matt LCDs!) and CRTs (iMacs) (disregarding minor things like flatness of the tube/reflectiveness of the screen/brightness of backlighting, etc.).
Since I started calibrating everything with a Spyder, the differences between them all are far less apparent, and the colour and contrast are dramatically better – and closer – than even the most careful manual calibration could achieve.
Anyway, nice to see you back! And I'm picking up my 70–200 f2.8 in the week: you’re a bad influence, DJN... :)

p.s. meant to mention that the MacBook Pro is much brighter than any of the others...!

I've got an overly bright lcd and this looks very subdued.
I like it though.

comment by Sharla at 06:51 AM (GMT) on 6 January, 2007
I liked the shot on my laptop, the jackets were more subdued than two days ago but a better match to the tones of the pic. On my Monaco-corrected CRT, there isn't a lot of percieved difference (I don't have them side-by-sied), but the shot is a little flatter, which is better because there is much more subtlety across the greys of the wood.
comment byP.J. at 06:59 AM (GMT) on 6 January, 2007
Just as innocent as yesterday! Great image.
comment by Jennifer at 08:05 AM (GMT) on 6 January, 2007
I think the toning is just wonderful - I'd call it subtle rather than flat or dull!
comment byRoy at 10:38 AM (GMT) on 6 January, 2007
With LCD and CRT side by side it shows me that I need to calibrate the CRT!
Definitely brighter and slightly more saturated on the LCD though, which is calibrated (with Eye-One).
Good to see you back - and good luck with the new ventures in 2007!

Looks great to me, on my LCD, but I prefer the b&w image posted prior; the pinks are a little too distracting for my taste.

On my crt the colours are are a little dull and not quite so vibrant. I'm liking the series so far!

I use lcd screen and the colors are vivid but still i like the it. It is kind of desaturated and goes well with the mood of the picture.
great capture. Sure your kids going to enjoy seeing the beautiful captures when they grow up.

I love all of your photos of your children especially. They are the most beatiful and natural models you could ask for. I enjoy the starkness of this shot, with the bright, bold colors of their sweaters jumping out. Great shot!

Very nice colours ! Congratulations for your work. I like the HDR series also !
I'm familiar with the laptop LCD differences to CRT. It's really frustrating.
All you can trust is the histogram.
great shot! the feel of this picture is very comforting
It's really great. I like it! Very nice shot and depth!
Looks awesome to me David, I think this is my favourite of the 3 shots of the little cutie, I particularly like the way you edited this shot.
