In one way or another I've been involved with Higher Education for 21 years – as an undergraduate student, as an administrator, as a research student, and as a lecturer – but today was my last day, at least in terms of a full-time commitment. For the next 12 weeks or so I'll still be working in a part-time capacity but other than that I guess I now need to get used to calling myself a professional photographer – which is both scary and exhilarating.
And I guess I better get my act together and shoot some new material as this one was taken well over a year ago ;-)

Gosh, I hope the next photos you take are a bit better than this, David. This one's all out of focus, the highlights are a little blown and you even cut the head off one of these unfortunate children....lol.
Dude, you rock, and you are *never* gonna be short of work. Why wish you good luck, you don't need it. Just make sure you keep feeding us with tasty morsels here, now and then!

Awwww - makes me feel all warm and fuzzy - no I've not been drinking the developer! (developed my 1st film last night - great fun!) I'll 2nd Vahid - always been a pro - you only need to check out a few web sites to know it isn't where you studied or what letters you have after your name!
This shot is just great (as always). So much emotion in a single frame.
Good luck with your new career. Not that you need it :)

Congratulations Dave, you will do just fine - in fact, better than fine I'm sure.
It's a lot more rewarding (maybe even financially eventually!) than academia is these days. Fewer meetings, less paperwork, no appraisals - other than your own continual assessment of yourself of course!
