This is the first of two shots of this little lad, both of which are cute, but I think I probably prefer tomorrow's as it's more aligned with my usual style.

Ok Ok ... Back to the babies ....more cute, adorable, yummy, sweet, starry-eyed bundles of new-born humanity...You can't fail David.
You must must do a gender audit on the types of comments you have received on all the baby photo's you have put up David. It would be interesting ...if somewhat predictable.
Lets us know please.

Forgive me, all, but I'm not even close to being satiated on babies. I'm very much enjoying watching David explore this challenging area of photography, in his compostions, his timing with his subjects, and his lighting. For example, I'm amazed he was able to get such even lighting for this youngster with just one flash unit. (He doesn't exactly say that but it looks like he used it to bounce on a wall or something behind him. It's the three streaks that I can't quite figure out. There could be numerous explanations.)

Am I imagining things or does he look exactly like a very very young John Humphries of Radio4 fame...it's those eyes

A priceless expression. Those cheeks are just too much.
comment bydjn1 at 09:17 PM (GMT) on 27 February, 2007
Thanks everyone.
As for the lighting: this was mostly lit with bounce flash, but rather that use the ceiling I bounced it directly off the wall behind me.
And yes, he is cute :-)

I'm just wondering, given that you've said you prefer the next one, if you've kind of switched off on this one when you processed it?

Still cute though. How can it not be?
Ok, as one who normally leaves the room when baby pictures come out, I have to say this is my favorite. It's certainly the most humanizing shot.
Great shot. :-)
As usual :-/
nice expression !
