As promised, here's the second shot of this undeniably cute little lad, and I have to say that this is probably one of my favourites of the baby portraits I've put up in recent weeks.

Love portrait - great expression. Not crazy about the warm, yellow tint - I think I'd prefer shades of true gray.

comment by kwerfeldein at 10:31 PM (GMT) on 27 February, 2007

haha, thats funny ;)

He looks mesmerized!

Good lord! Those eyes are insane. I've spent hours photographing my 5 month old nephew, trying to get a shot similar to this. The detail in his eyes is fantastic. Lovely shot. I can only imagine how hard it was to get.

comment by Thomas Lynch at 11:39 PM (GMT) on 27 February, 2007

Great tones. The expression is perfect... sort of a curious bewildered look.

Baby - "mmm lunch...drool"
DJN - "I sure hope this kid doesn't think my 5D is eatable ;-)"

i cant believe im saying this, but I'm starting to like this baby series. and "Your lens must be very impressive !!! ;-)" - thats like saying - hey mr. chef the food was amazing you must have excellent pots. (I got this analogy from a Chris Orwig tutorial)

comment by Alice at 03:10 PM (GMT) on 28 February, 2007

I couldn't help but giggle when I saw this! What a perfect expression! I love this one. I can't imagine what you had to do to get this expression from him. :-) Keep up the nice work.

comment by KJM at 04:46 PM (GMT) on 28 February, 2007

It's a great expression, and well captured, but personally I find the contrast between very soft skin and sharp eyes (which I think is probably post-processing) a little overdone on this occasion.

comment by Sean at 06:27 PM (GMT) on 28 February, 2007

Ah Hah! Incredible! This has instantly joined my favorite portraits ever list!

comment by Andy at 06:45 PM (GMT) on 28 February, 2007

I'm still trying to figure out what "belting" means... but in the meantime, this is one of my all-time favorite images. Every now and then one of your images stuns me and redefines Chromasia for me in my mind. This is one of them. It makes me laugh and look with wonderment at the same time. Masterful work, David.

amazing, is he trying to hypnotize someone? I like this photo a lot, especially the reflexions in his eyes.
Best regards

comment by Laurie at 01:34 AM (GMT) on 12 March, 2007

Oh my gosh....what a terrific photo. I absolutely love it. I do have a clue who this child is, but, I want to frame his photo and hang it on the wall so it'll make me smile every time I see it.

comment by Evi at 03:31 PM (GMT) on 25 April, 2007

I looove this look :-)
