I'm not normally a great fan of selective desaturation, but in this case I'm happy with the way it turned out.

I love your baby pics, keep 'm coming! :-)

I think I like this shot as a smaller image rather than a full sized one. I think you made a good choice in making the pacificer colored. :D The duck is so cute!

Lovely - really made us smile.

Really nice - the sharpness of the duck and the restrained colouring compliment the background and the B&W well.

On the other hand, my girlfriend just came in the room, glanced across at what I was commenting on and said, "More baby pictures, huh?"

In a nice way though ;)

Top Banana, Dave - out of all the babies, this is my favourite hands down - and I know what you mean about selective desat, can be overused sometimes (not that I do it that often :s), but excellently spotted here!

I am in awe most times I visit this site and you can see why. In the words of the late great Steve Irwin... "She's a Beauty!" :)

I don't like your baby pics. They are so wheeeny wheeeny. Know what i mean?

Most of the times I see selective colouring I wonder wtf. Nicely used here, although I must admit it was a bit of a surprise when the image came up.

wow! i love it. i'm amazed by how sharp the image of the duck is =O

Hm, yah. There are times for the selective coloring, but I don't feel it with this one. I'd love to see the soft baby tones with this gorgeous duck. Damn cute idea, tho.

This is a very nice shot but I guess the selective saturation is not working here. The selective saturation and the shallow DOF is putting too much focus on the soother and it is looking like something added later and not a part of the original picture.
