Here's the last of this small set of images from Jumeirah beach in Dubai. I do have three more to put up, taken on the same evening as the previous four, but I'll probably post something different tomorrow as even I'm getting a bit bored with beach shots ;-)
That said, do let me know which was your favourite of the four.

Anyway! How did you keep him sharp? With this shutter speed he should be a ghost in the sea. :)

This is simply amazing. The colors are wonderful and silhouette creates a very sublime mood--beautiful!

Lovely image, indeed! Of the whole miniseries I prefer yesterday's image, though. There is a sense of uneasiness that this image gives me, probably from the contrast between the sharp silhouette and the blurred environment. On the other hand, this image has a more intense mood. I don't know, it is probably because the previous image has a more familiar and therefore reassuring feel. Anyhow, congratulations on your excellent photoblog.
I really want to say "Evening fades 2" but this one does have a fantastic impact factor! Beautiful image Dave. mal

I think this one is the best. The others didn't have anything that stood out in particular (even if there was an actual object, such as the boat in #3 or the hotel in #1). The contrast between the silhouette and the rest of the photo is simply perfect :).
I would be really curious to see some other shots you took in Dubai... perhaps something more "mundane"? Since you first wrote about going there, I have been wondering about everyday things... maybe if you won't post pictures, you can share your impressions about that part of the world.

Best image yes. This one has a real appeal. The subject speaks and is perfectly framed, hilighting his solitude by cornering him.
I definitely have to say that this one is my fave of the 4!!!
just the representation of the photographer giving us a reflection of what you were probably doing at the time (be interesting if he has a complementary shot of yourself!)
hope his gear is weather sealed! and yours for that matter if you were in quite as deep as he (tho I know this could just be an illusion!!)

David, I revisited each image, and think I like this one best for its simplicity and the subtle color shifts. The single point of interest makes this an exceptional photo. Your work is beautiful, and you should be proud of this series.

This one is my favorite. The strong contrast between the silhouette and the pink background, its minimalism,...
Wonderful pic

In this shot, you've managed to capture what is the essence of being passionate about photography. Great shot!

This is a beautiful shot...well-composed, perfect color, so atmospheric! I've come back to it several times now, just to take another look. Definitely the best of the lot for me. PJ
in my humble and lack of photography knowledge this is one of your best photos and a great new style. it's now in my inspiration box. and the coloring COULD be straight from the camera in this photo without the use of any post production work and just using filters and temp, etc. so well done. that's what i enjoy the best. happy days

This one is my favorite of the series. love the shiloette. I also love the irony of photographers taking pictures of each other.

A fine mini-series. This in my opinion is by far the best image.
this work is A-MA-ZING !!!!
one of the most beautifull pics i've seen this year !!!
incredible
Beautiful grades in the sky and water. These shots have really grown on me. and the silhouette really pops out.
This is gorgeous Dave. However, I do prefer yesterday's image. This looks more like something that I might put up, and you're far too good for that!
Hi Dave
If I have to suggest a ranking list I would say #1, #2, #3 and #4, exactly in the order you have posted them.
I like this one. The presence of a man, even as a silhuette, makes it live. The pink is beautiful again and finally the waves are blurred.
Great.
