I know I said I was going to take a break from the shots I took while I was in Dubai, but I only have three left (including this one) so thought I might as well post them before putting anything else up.

And no, the sand wasn't really blue ;-)

a great strukture in the colored sand - i first thought that you took a picture of water on a carpet.

comment by Robert at 03:22 AM (GMT) on 7 April, 2007

The sand is so uniform that it almost looks like hard plastic.

I logged onto the website and was busy sorting out some stuff in the office, as I turned around to see this image I just burst out 'WOW' now show us the 'HOW' ;-) roll on May for the tutorials! Really unique!

I don't know if in the UK you have English versions of Alessandro Baricco's books, but some of the latest pictures are a perfect image of what he describes in his "Oceano Mare" (literally "Ocean Sea" if you don't know this book adn want to look for it). If my English was better I'd try to translate at least a sentence of the book to make you understand the likeness, but I think I could spoil a great masterpiece!
Anyway wonderful pic! :-)

Fantastic shot. To make something like the tide coming in look like art - fabulous! Am heading for the beach today, so hope to try a shot like this out :-)

This sort of thing appeals to me greatly - something VERY simple, but perfectly executed and captured. Nice to see another different colour palette as well.

Not shore if this is spilled beer on the floor or the seawater on the beach...
Knowing your style a bit, it's probably the latter...
Anyway a beautiful grahical composition!

I don't normally comment, but this shot is great, love the graphical feel to it.
