I took this yesterday afternoon while people watching on the beach, and it's pretty much as shot (other than a major shift in white balance and a minor increase in contrast).
And to keep you updated ...
Our daughter now has 27 hours left in which to be born by her due date. Apparently 58% of babies manage it, but I suspect that she'll probably be late.

Yep, that could well explain it ;-)

Intriguing postures (photographers?). I like the similarity of the poses. The 2:1 format works, but that gold colour really makes it. Nice and simple. What's off frame to the right?
Great shot and the color really works. I like the silhuettes and the small sparks on the sand/water (?)

Malcolm: I think she was taking a picture of Blackpool's North Pier.

I love this. Having just left the early summer in the UK and landed to 1m of snow in Tromso, it's nice to see a reminder of what I left my kids playing in. Aside from the reminder, it's a fantastic shot. Quick question - have you ever produced a plot/graph of date vs number of comments received for that days posting? Just thought it might be interesting. BTW, best of everything in the next few days.

Looks like a variation of American football. the tone really works with the sparkles.
Now that is a photography pose - well for a p+s anyway. Classic stuff.

Nice shot. I really like the gold colors. Interesting pose with the person on the right. Guess they're taking a photo of something? The silhouette is great. Nice job.
comment byElgarim at 03:00 PM (GMT) on 16 April, 2007
Good coloring and the silhouetting works really well. Is it just me or is the horizon a little on the tilt? Nothing that bothers me though in such a nice pic.

While we're waiting to hear about the baby, see a new pic (any guesses what it will be of??), maybe I can ask a question - what books on Photoshop do folks recommend? I'm asking here specifically because I'm interested in the general themes brought up by the images on Chromasia and also on John Washington's blog.
Suggestions?
