I posted five shots from last year's Blackpool Pride festival, but will only be posting two this year. I think I probably prefer the next one, but this is the definitely the more unusual of the two, both in terms of content and processing.
And my apologies for not posting much recently, but things have been extremely hectic. All being well I should get back to posting more regularly soon.

I like the picture very much. Too bad the (wo)man isn't looking in to the camera. The weather doesn't look that good by the way ;)

Hitting F11 on my keyboard is a first on your site David (I think) Agreed, It looks by exif
that the day looked rather grim for photos.
PS Got my JPGMAG yesterday. Congrats on making the issue.

Hello stranger - but (s)he's stranger! Love the desaturated background - emphasises the colourfulness of the subject.

That's a dude dudes! look at his wrist.
I agree with Jennifer, I too like the desaturated background.

I'm not sure if I like the desaturated background to be honest david, but it is nice to have you back, and the picture is quite funny, and very confusing :) I hope things calm down for you.

I love the image content Dave, although not too sure about the desaturated background. That is probably because it reminds me of the days when wedding photographers used to wow couples with this sort of technique.
It certainly does make him/her alienated from the world, and it would be interesting to know if that's how he/she would want to be portrayed.
Did you use the technique for this purpose - or was it mainly to draw attention to the colour.
Either way it is a compelling image - good work ;-)

The desaturation certainly keeps ''desp' housewife'' seperate from the reality of the moment. Sort of provides an ''in your face feel''. I think that that can be put down to team work ..Well done both guys.
Responding to Laura's comment ...maybe DjN was flirting too much. Too much protracted eye contact David! ... Ha
Thanks everyone, and this is a man, which I thought was fairly obvious ;-)
As for the desaturation: this is partially a consequence of the fact that I lowered the contrast for the background – it was too distracting in the original.
Great shot. I like the selective desaturation and the way the subject isn't looking at the camera. Gives a somewhat lonely feel to the photo. Nice work.

I'm not too sure about the processing. With such a 'unique' subject I don't think you need to do much more. Perhaps a straight black and white version would be better?

Come over here and give us a nice big kiss.

LOL. Omg what is that?

What I like about this one is the faded, old-school look to the background. An excellent idea.
I really love this photo. I wouldn't change a thing about it, post-processing included.
Hilarious!
Is lovely!!!
A flash at 1/2000th of a second? Isn't that way beyond the maximum sync speed?
