Here's the second shot that I mentioned, taken at this year's Blackpool Pride festival, and though this is a more standard/typical portrait, I much prefer it to the previous one.

And if you're interested, I produced another version of this image with a slightly 'colder' feel here:

Haunting/Disturbing

I definitely prefer the "warmer" version - it somehow accentuates the color contrast much better than its "cooler" counterpart.

very very lovely portrait. I prefer this, the other is too much purple. Which of the two it is nearer the truth?

comment by djn1 at 05:45 PM (GMT) on 21 May, 2007

Freddy: this version is closer to the truth, though fractionally warmer than the original.

Thanks much David, and not only for the answer but, above all, for the fact that you share with we your magnificent photos

Good shot. I tend to prefer this one. The color looks more natural. The other version seems a little on the purple side, but that could be my monitor. And of the 2 different subjects, I still like the mood/feel of the "desperate housewife" shot best. Great job on both though!

I like this one more. Quite a character. Good job.

I like this shot. Especially because this guy reminds me of Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean. Just one question: Why does the area between his nose and the left eye looks a bit smudgy? Is it because of retouching or is it just the way this guys skin looks?

BTW, I wish you and your family all the best for the Chromasia business! Hopefully I get some money together to attend to one of your weekend courses.

Best wishes from Manchester,

Sebastian

Great portrait, great tones ! I don't know if he was about to cry or to laugh. This one is definitely better than the previous one which is a bit pathetic.

Great potrait! Very natural exposure considering the use of the flash!
I prefer the warm version over the cooler version by the way...

Blackpool is one weird place.

Fantastic portrait. I love it. My only remark concerns the hat which I find a bit too uniform and without enough details.

this one has much better post-processing, anyway great details in his face, good one
