Very powerful photograph, something about the processing makes the sea look a little like icing on a cake, but I think it is more to do with the angle of light than a mistake in Photoshop. I think this effect of the light adds to the powerful look of the sea and really helps make the pier (not sure off hand if this is south or central pier, I think its south). Well done on capturing such an impressive photo David. I would love to know if you used a tripod and where it was taken from, im guessing from central / north pier?
Ed: it's Central Pier, taken from the North Pier, though you can see bits of South Pier in the background. And no, it was hand-held.

This was a very powerful and overwhelming shot. Good details in the waves, nice sharpness on the pier and a lovely look on the heavy clouds, however I would've liked to see increased contrasts and more blackness in the blacks here and there. Else, a very good shot once again!

Minchia! (Maybe it's better not to indicate what means in Italian…)

Beautiful David -- the tones are exceptional. I have to say that this is probably my favorite shot of yours from the last few months.

The water almost looks like you could walk across it, like it's more solid than the pier and the Ferris wheel in the background. Nicely composed, too.
Love this. Great texture and lovely processing. I really am a landscape man.

Lovely contrast and texture on the waves - far better than I can ever get - which goes well with the less contrasty sky. I'm interested to know: was the light good enough that you envisaged and captured the smoothly graduated sky and textured sea when taking the photo, or is it something that has come out of manipulating the sky and sea in different ways post-exposure?

Great scene!
Love the suspence in the shot!
Wonder if the people in the Familybar are seasick already ;-)
I can't think of anything much to say about this one other than that I'm reasonably happy with the way it turned out.

I like the pier and the water together. Nice image.

such a fantastic seascape, well done!
Reasonably happy? Sometimes you're just too modest, man!
Ditto 'Furanku' and 'Toxic Lens'
Great shot! I love the hard-tones of the sea.

Great shot Dave, as always :)
Beautiful! I love the contrast. Makes it seem very cold. Great job!
Family Bar? That's interesting...Great pic by the way.
Thanks all :-)
I like the tones and the dramatic ambiance. Beautiful and strong shot!
I can't believe how much your work has improved since I last looked at your site. (It was already amazing then!) Great stuff. Keep up the good work!
p.s. May I just ask how you coloured this shot?
this one is very incredible...
