I don't imagine this will appeal to all of you, but there's something about its stark simplicity that I like. I also like the fact that the scale isn't immediately apparent, at least I'm assuming it isn't – let me know what you think.

Even after ten seconds I cannot figure the exact scale, interesting :)

I can't figure the exact scale either.

A large lake or a small puddle on the beach? :-)
Indeed, the lack of scale(?) confuse the view.

I would say this is a washout between 1 to 2 metres across, and Dave, you must have got at least a little wet to get that angle on it :)

As an image it is not appealing at first...
Your question does make it so though!
I guess it is a close up of a shallow at the beach.
approximately 20cm wide and some 70cm long...
To the left are little mounts of sand (like waves)the tide is out, to the right is the foam of the shore...

I wonder if your work is getting a bit monotonous. Maybe you should include more shots from life off the beach.

I don't really know how I feel about this photo. I love the tones, but maybe because of the scale that isn't really apparent or the vage sort of hill on the left side that's makes me don't really like the picture, but still i don't dislike it... Difficult..
The calmness of the water would make me think that this is a fairly small shallow on the beach, perhaps a couple of metres across. The image is quite serene and quite a contrast to your previous dramatic images. I also love the tones in this.

I'm going for jumpable without getting your feet wet ;-D Kinda bleak - but in a good way!

I like the honesty of this image. It seems a fairly shallow tidal outlet ...?

Emptyness is never boring ... as some people may imagine. It's a different mind game ... I rememeber being alone on top of a Munroe up in Wester Ross and scanning 360 degrees saw nothing made by humans at all ... just a suspicion of a vapour trail.
The flatness of the fens might also breed a similar reaction of emptyness...but the history behind the area is fascinating.
As for the scale of this image .. I have my ideas but am holding back.
The melancholic bleakness sends a tingle through me.

did you get a trousers full of sand?? ;-)
It is interesting. I think its a closeup of a rivulet running back towards the ocean as the tide goes out.
I have really enjoyed this series of photographs, but I feel your best images are in color. How about some Chromasia-ist color pop!
very beautiful (again)

To be honest, I don`t really like this one. The tones are great but that is all. No foreground interest, no background. It is quite boring to me.

Thanks all.
As for the scale: the bank on the right is about six inches high and the water was about three inches deep and a yard across ;-)
Beautiful! Love the dark green tones. Nice.
This is simply gorgeous.
Woaw, lovely colors! a peacefull landscape.
