My previous entry showed Rhowan part way through a game of pass-the-parcel – somewhat frustrated as it passed her by for the fourth time in a row. This one was taken a minute later. She got her turn :-)

Very nice image, great detail from the 1Ds II. Can I ask where you positioned your flash, was it on the camera's hotshoe?

comment by djn1 at 11:17 PM (GMT) on 8 July, 2007

Mark: thanks, and yes, the flash was on the hotshoe, but bounced off the ceiling.

I prefer this one. She has a slightly contemptuous look.
And I like the DOF on her falling hair

I also prefer this one but they are both very impressive and nice.

was this on a tripod?
1/60 at 200mm with such a big camera.

Nice one - I much prefer this one too.
Travis - I think the flash helped, plus the IS on the lens.

Wow! Dave, you have a 1Ds Mk II now? Very, very nice :D So now you have 2 full-frame DSLRs! Great shot...

Love this one. I personally prefer eyes visible on such great portraits, but your portraits without eyes visible are great! Great job, good lighting and excellent sharpness where needed. Thanks for sharing.

:-) I like looking at your kids, but I like it more when they are happy.

Thanks everyone.

Travis: no, it was handheld.

Another great portrait. I like these portraits where your subjects look down - I can recall that you have several others taken this way.. Great contrast between the face and the hair. Did you use the lightsphere for this?
