This isn't quite as good as the shots I took at last year's international fireworks competition (here and here), but I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out – it's colourful if nothing else. Last year I had the benefit of access to the pier, from where the fireworks were launched, but this year we were a bit further back – on the esplanade just north of the North Pier. It was a good vantage point, but the shots I took are not quite as dynamic as I would have liked.
In terms of the EXIF data: I haven't posted it because all the shots I took were shot on bulb, with an aperture of f/16, ISO 100, and shutter speeds ranging from one to around eight seconds. I definitely have one more to put up, which is a bit different from this one, but I'm not sure about the rest. If any of them are OK, I'll put them up.

Last year's were very spectacular, but this is still a lovely shot. I like it a lot Dave. I've never been quite as lucky with my fireworks shots, though that may be due to lack of planning more so than skill... though you surpass me in that area as well :)

You've got this one up quickly - and it looks like you were probably stood a couple of feet away from me! I really like the colour here, and you've timed it perfectly. Just remembered to sign up for the tutorials tonight - I've had a quick skim through the first one and it looks excellent - I can see myself learning loads from them.

This photo is really eye catching. I love how DARK the sky is and the shape of the firework.
The black at the lower right hand side sort of confuses me. I know the light just isn't reaching that part of the pier, but it just looks a little odd

Lovely detail in the pier and the fireworkflares.
The single puple colour gives it a kind of serene athmosphere.
Very well composed!

Beautiful shot - colour and form is lovely. It was great to see last years again - had forgotten just how fab they were - but it's good to see you can still pull if off without the VIP vantage point!

Beautiful ! The detail is great, and I love the subtle light underneath the pier.

i think the newest fireworkimage works much better than the two from last year, because i like the graphic deatils in there. i looks much more like an artcanvas than a photography. excellent point of view!

I actually like this shot more than the ones from last year. Reminded me, (immediately) of the headdress of a Las Vegas showgirl. A cartoon one. It's thpeck-tackular :)
Would be a good partner to my other 'pier one '. Considers...
