What a gorgeous moment - as for the 800, you can't tell, but then again you're a Canon man, and noise is something it's taken Nikon till this year to finally sort out with the new D3.

This is really cool! I like this one and was happy to see it this morning. It's more dramatic than the shots of the past couple days. I love the way the fog is framed with the lovely green vines and the way the trees spring up from the mist. Well done.

Owen-b, I'm actually pleasantly surprised at how my D40x handles noise. The older Nikons (i.e., D70/D200 which I see you have) are a little louder ;) Lovely shot Dave, very moody.

With the depth in the shot, and the mist, and the incline, and the perspective, I feel like I am going to fall into the mist... very peaceful shot Dave... mind you if I did fall, theres a road or railway line below and I'd get horribly squashed before that happened..... phew. ;-)
wow..awesome shot! Its just great you were able to catch that moment in the morning. Beautiful nature shot!

I dig this... very cool. I still like your first scenic (two shots ago) as my fav, however.

Great show. Breathtaking beauty. It kinda looks like what the place near my home looks like when it gets too hot. http://www.picturejockey.com/pblog/2006/4/panorama_aarey.html

Beautiful - but couldn't you PS some Autumn colours in the foliage to make it the perfect shot ;-) Yesterday's was cool too - b&w worked really well.

Thanks everyone.
Jennifer: yep, that would have worked too.
Navin: I see what you mean, though it was a little cooler in Germany :-)

It looks like a vessel of vitriolic vapours...just love the emotions that shots like this create. richard T

I'm not normally a 'morning' person, but I'm glad I was up to witness this scene. And don't ask why I was shooting at ISO 800, it wasn't intentional.
And my apologies to those of you who have already seen this one - I inadvertently published it when I meant to schedule it for today.
