I was down on the seafront this evening, just as the sun went down, and the light was fabulous. This is probably the only shot I got that's worth posting, and it's a bit soft – I should have dropped to f/5.6 and shot at 1/80th – but it does capture some of the beauty and stillness of the evening.

Wow. The evening light is really beautiful. I'm nuts about the pastel colors here. Also, can't believe I'm the first out with a comment! Very, very nice image ... the softness doesn't bother me a bit. For me, it rather contributes to the mood.

Beautiful evening light. Great nice pastels and this looks so peaceful!

That is a wonderful skyline but I feel that maybe you have used the shadows / highlights adjustment in Photoshop a couple of % too much, maybe trying to bring out detail in the shadows. If I'm wrong fair enough, I still this it is a fantastic image and would love to see a nice big print of it. The still water and cool pastel colours make for a very peaceful picture, as Josef put it. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.

I love those colors! they're almost snowy and a bit dreamy!

Lovely job. There is a snowy look to this. I saw the light this evening and knew that I'd missed it.

I love the dream-like quality of this photo. It's a nice change from some of the higher-contrast photos you put up (not that I dislike those - they are good all the same).

I agree that the colors lend itself to being a tad soft. Nice shot.

It's both soft and soothing, a beautiful shot over the water. Nice work, David.

The softness, although not intended, actually works all right. When viewed at this size it emphasises the quiet atmosphere, although I suspect that the slot machines were cranked up to full volume so you couldn't avoid hearing them. And you're right - the light IS fabulous.
