This is the second and last of my 'found' photographs and I'm afraid that I can't really tell you much about this one other than that it was taken at some point during the early 80's. I can remember where it was taken, and think it was taken during a friend's 18th birthday party (which would mean it was taken in 1981), but I really have no idea who she is other than that she was a guest at the party.
As for why I've posted it now: I'm not sure, other than that there's something about this photograph that I really like ... but I can't say what.
Anyway, although I have loads more old photographs that I could scan and post, I won't, as I don't imagine they're of all that much interest to you. This one though has caught my attention on numerous occasions during the last few decades, so I thought it might be worth putting up.

There's a kind of "Princess Diana" thing happening here... The eyes, mostly, I think--and the hair is helping, too!

I love the styling, it's like a soft lit Terry Richardson.

I immediately thought Princess Diana too. Odd. Lovely, though sad, eyes.

Interesting portrayal. I like the tones.

I would call it a typical 80´s picture...and, it reminds me of lady diana, the sad look on her face and her hairstyle maybe...

Like the tones - what was the original scan like, is there much PSing? I've a cupboard full of old slides, would love to scan them but would be such a mamoth tusk!

I agree with all that has been said re Princess Diana, hair, eyes, sad. But the young lady appears to have swollen glands in her neck, to me.

She has an expression not unlike that of the German mother in the picture by August Sander used in the most recent programme from the BBC's 'The Genius of Photography' series. (link - http://www.andrewsmithgallery.com/exhibitions/augustsander/asgs_1001.html).
There is a certain sadness in her face that might be missed in the real encounter, but which the photograph conveys extremely well.
