I didn't think I was going to get out today, but I managed to grab an hour on Fleetwood beach where I got this shot and one other that I'm happy with. And the title refers to the post-production, not the bottle: it was pretty much this lurid shade of pink when I found it.

What could have been in the bottle?

Nicely done Dave. After seeing so many of your lovely other newer style shots, it is a little refreshing to see the "chromasia" style again.

Jide: I suspect it's some sort of cherry flavoured fizzy drink.

Ash: thanks, and I found it refreshing too.

Looks like the mouth wash at my dentist's ;-)

The drink does not look appetizing in the least. But the color stands out--in a most unnatural way. Hmmm...not sure what I think of this one.

Great shot, great colours. What is in this bottle? It sure doesn't taste as good as it looks else it won't have been thrown away.

Astonishingly great use of shallow depth of filed. Incredibly unique and creative.

Looks like it could be radioactive ;-)

Very nice intense color and good use of the short dof. Nice job.

Wow, that must've been a really chemical thing inside that bottle :) Nice colour, really good contrast with the soft and boring colours of the beach :)

comment by Richard Trim at 06:36 PM (GMT) on 8 November, 2007

That pernicious and vile pink liquid (presumeably some sort of 'chemical' drink) is savage reflection of the crap that elements of the food industry are prepared to throw at the vulnerable communities in our society.
Pinks and greys always work for me but this is a cold pink. A warmer washed out pink hue would have been more aesthetically pleasing. But you have to take what's offered. Standing it vertically must have been necessary to give the image some sort of composition. After my minor rant ... not bad ;-) richard.

Thanks all.

Richard: I agree with your sentiments about the food industry, but not about the shade of pink ;-)

Any masking on this? I'm surprised the sky was so dark, if not.

Don't worry people: this is probably "Guaraná Jesus"!
Believe me it's not radioactive and more famous than coca cola in São Luis -Maranhão/Brasil!
Very good shot.

Nice shot, but I think I'd stay away from drinking anything that color. Eeew. :-)
