The beaches north of Blackpool are quiet, even at the height of summer, but at this time of year there are hardly any people at all – just mile after mile of sand and sea with the occasional person and their dog.

Very nice shot, David. It has the mood of the chilling air and the sadness of being lonely. The tones are also great.

Awesome picture. I can feel the wind blowing.

I like this one a lot. I think I'd have been tempted to flip it horizontally so the lady is walking from left to right and your eye naturally moves the way she's walking across to see the dog. Just my personal preference. ;-)

One of those instant classics.

This is just beautiful. Checking the store now, I really want to have this on a wall in my livingroom. As a dog owner, this photo gives a feeling of serenity, being alone with your thoughts, strolling down the beach without a worry in the world... I can almost see the dog moving too, happily running down the beach on a neverending search for something new and exciting to sniff ;)
Again; this is absolutely wonderful, for me definitely one of the best photos I've seen here.

Simple and very effective. The well wrapped figure and the bleached tones perfectly sum-up any British coastal resort for this time of the year (I actually prefer this time of year for beach/sand/sea shots- you get far better results I think).

your exif data is a little out of alignment using the lastest version of firefox, not sure if the last point is relevant.
Regarding the shot, nice wellies!

Thanks everyone.
PhilB: I tried it that way round, but preferred this version.

A lovely composition, similar to a number of mine, people, dogs and beaches what a wonderful combination, processed as always excellently....
Lovely! Looks wonderful on white!
