Watching children grow up is a strange business. One minute they’re a babe-in-arms and the next, despite their continued dependence, they’re striding off confidently into the world, seemingly without hesitation.

A striking image that certainly demands attention of the viewer, I also love the processing which significantly adds to the overall feel, I hope we meet up some time in 2008....

Such a wide expanse that he's venturing out into. I keep coming back to the slight shadow under his feet. Lovely.

A striking image Dave, the red jacket was no doubt bought with photographic opportunities in mind. Enjoy them while you can they grow up so quickly, I am enjoying them second time around now!

Here is to a good New Year.

luv the soft shoreline and how he pops on it. maybe he's thinking "Just a short breather from all my sisters." ;)

He almost appears indepent from the rest of the scene, almost as if he is floating into the remainder of the landscape.

Quite an impact.

Superb photography on display here.

I love how your titles and descriptions of the images are more often than not very similar to the story I read from the photo itself. A great capture and a perfect visual metaphor.

The red of his sweater is striking, although there's something about the ground he's walking on that doesn't feel quite right, almost as though he's on a background in one and half of the photo and then the other half is the pier...of course, that could just be me, I don't have a very good perception. ;)

I really love this processing. The pastel tones of the background really set off the strong colors of your child's clothes, without seeming trite as it would if you had chosen a b&w background.

Congratulations on a well-deserved Best European Photoblog win! You're the best. Hope you have a great 2008.

Love the bright red against the more pale palette. Happy New Year to you and your family. I look forward to watching 2008 as it unfolds at Chromasia.
