I have a folder on my server called "possibles", which contains two sets of photographs: ones that are mostly crap, that I might rework/post if I don't have anything else to put up, and a few shots of the kids that they have vetoed; i.e. they don't want me to post them. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I was looking through them this afternoon and came across this one – taken back in the summer of 2005 – which Camilla consigned to the "possibles" folder at the time. When she saw it today though, she decided that it would be ok for me to post it now.
From what I can remember she was playing a game of football with Rhowan, Harmony and her cousins, but whatever it was that elicited her expression eludes me now. It was clearly something amusing ;-)

I agree, if that was me in the photograph I wouldn't let you lost it but it is a fun and obviously un-posed portrait. Well done for the wonderful sharpness and back lighting on the hair, I'm sure its a picture that she will look back at in 15 years and say, "oh my god, thats hilarious!"

That quite a moment you've captured there... :)

On first view I thought this had been taken with your Canon 1Ds Mark II and 2.8 IS L - but its not. This image just goes to show that you don't need expensive cameras and glass to get great images. A trained eye and that 'decisive moment' is all that's needed.

Oh boy, she has such a great expression on her face. I'd be too embarrased to post a picture like that of me though.

David, I love this photograph--it's so animated. Absolutely fantastic. Everything in this photograph speaks energy and enthusiasm. :)
this is an impressive shot.
Hilarious. I'm not sure I'd let you post it if it had been me :-)
That is very funny!
The title sure got me thinking and I sat pondering it prior opening the comments box and reading your explaination.
Definitely animated. No matter what the moment, it sure has captured the point in time.
