Like a lot of my recent images, this was processed in LAB Color mode rather than RGB which, in this instance, I used to alter the colour balance. If you take a look at a version without this change you will see that the final image is quite different to the original:

Beautiful! May I ask a question? Both yesterday's and today's photos seem significantly sharper than the originals you linked to - is this because the original pics you posted hadn't been sharpened at all, or is this a function of the changes you made in LAB mode? (Sorry LAB newbie here - but I did just buy access to your tutorial, so if I'll find the answer there, just say so!)

Great shot, love how the shoes match the brick, however, I actually prefer the bronze/brown tones of the original...though that's just my preference. ;)

Oh!, a pink series ;-)
I don't dislike it, but as DedicatedRR I tend to prefer the original tones. Especially on the shoes, something disturbs me in the pink version...

Have to agree that another hue would have complemented this picture. It's all those girls in the household rubbing off on you ;-).

Angie: when I post an image on chromasia I sharpen it (using Smart Sharpen) but when I post the original I don't always sharpen the original, hence the discrepancy.
DedicatedRR, Furanku and jkm: for me, there's a 'lightness' about this version that's missing in the other version, despite the fact that the only difference is in terms of colour. And I thought it was more magenta than pink ;-)

As others have noticed , seems to be a pink theme going on here :-) Very nice, I like the bleached , lower contrast look. Do you know the subject or was it a 'spur of the moment' shot?

hixter: it was on the spur of the moment. I was photographing some graffiti, about two feet up from the top of the frame, but decided to snap this one as he walked past.

That's it. I'm taking the Intro to Lab Color Mode tutorial now. I just love the feel of this and your other lab processed photos. Also, is it possible to share your workflow for converting to the web? You don't seem to lose very much IQ...just wondering.

That person must have been booking it fast to get that much blur at 1/50?
