This is the first of two images taken on the same trip as this one, though I've gone for a slightly different colour this time round :-) Of the two I think I prefer the next one, but Libby likes this one best. And for those of your who are interested, both were processed/toned in LAB Color mode, as described in my LAB tutorial.

On an unrelated matter: I'm away for a few days next week, and don't have enough material to post an image a day: so this one's going up today, it's companion will be automatically posted on Monday, and another one will go up on Wednesday. I'm back on Friday so should have something new to post by then.

I like the minimalism :)

Nice! Reminds me that there is another season called Summer on a grey winters day like today :-) Stunning composition, like Rose says minimalist, I like these bottom weighted shots with loads of sky, great.

Strong composition and timed just right to separate out the figures on the shore.

I think this is absolutely brilliant - great tones , contrast and composition. If you think the next one is even better then I can't wait to see it :-)

Just as I was ready to "complain" that you are repeating yourself, David, you've admitted that this picture is in fact from the same trip, I've calmed down.
I really do like the colors! On both of the sets! can't even say whitch ones I like more!

Wow. I absolutely love this photo, even though it's not really the kind I usually like, maybe it's just because it looks like it could be a photo of my friends and me. :) I really like how much of the sky you included in this shot, also.

You are certainly raiding the archives looking at the last few postings. More time out with the camera and less time on the computer might be in order :-)

I'd like to be dimplomatic here and sit on the fence with regards to the benefits of raiding the archive, but I am very much of the idea that its a good cleansing exercise to go back through previous images, and re-edit and re-address previous work. So I have to disagree with Moonhead on that one.... keep up the work Dave, its all rewarding. Enjoy the next few days, would love to hear what it is your upto, assuming its photography of course...... csj

i love the free spirit endless summer feel to this shot. don't know if you've heard Duruti Column's Sketch for Summer, but I've opened this photo twice and that song popped into my head both times. :)

I can't decide which is my new favourite share of blue....the one closer to the top or the one nearer the water. Beautiful shot! I'll add this to the growing collection of your photos I would one day like to interpret as watercolours...once I learn how. ;)
