My apologies for not posting anything over the last couple of days but I've been finishing off the first part of a two part tutorial on HDR images. Anyway, I'm pleased to say that it's now finished, and if you're interested you can read more about it on either our main tutorials page or here:

It looks like sand being blown across the beach? Or am I way off .....it's a boat?

Goodun but can't decide if the tide is in (long exp) or out or some trickery is going on - will wait with interest!

wow. pretty as a postcard. love the way the cloudy foreground balances with the sky. and the tiny pops of color on the five domes.

Nice effect with the long exposure and like the slightly pink colouring.
It's been a while since you added one using the ND 113.
Good work.

I'm guessing that this is a long exposure to smooth the waves into the lovely formless 'mist' - and a look at the EXIF reveals it is indeed. Nice - did you do a few different exposures to get the right balance between completely featureless and 'some' texture?

This long exposure is stunning. The pinkish tone really adds an additional dimension that requires a longer look. It's surreal yet crisp, and that for me means brilliance.

It was either a dull day or you must have used a stack of ND filters to rum the camera for 2 minutes at F8, ISO 100. I really would have thought you'd have used ISO 50 and F22 for that duration, especially as it was taken in the middle fo the afternoon.

Looks to me that you bought one of them there B+W 10Stop filters Dave...

10 Stops! Holy smoke, you'd better do all your focussing before you screw that filter on! By my maths F8 for 2 minutes gives you 7,500 times the exposure you'd get at F5.6 for 1/125 sec. A 10 stop filter will reduce the exposure to 1/1024th so you're still 7.5 times overexposed. Given a dull day and the white sky you've achieved plus the inevitable latitude of RAW photography I reckon that could be about right. Good call SYSAGENT, I never knew such a filter existed.

Nice! It's a pier floating above the clouds!
I count about 13 stops between a gray afternoon and your reported exposure. ND113 + polarizer + 1 stop under for saturation?

Ghostly and very impressive - lovely subtle colours.

Thanks everyone. And just to clarify ...
This was shot with a 13 stop neutral density filter, hence the long exposure, and the foreground is the sea.

Una toma preciosa, induce mucha paz y tranquilidad.
Beautiful photo, peace and serenity.

For me the pier seems to be floating on top of the clouds. Excellent photo.
