Each year Blackpool hosts a gay pride festival, and this year was to exception. As a result I have a number of portraits that I'll be putting over the next five or six days. Of the ones I'll be putting up, this is probably one of the weakest (and is definitely Libby's least favourite) but there's still something about it I like.

mix feelings here as well. It is sad,it is fake, it is cold ,the colours doesn´t help but the eyes tell me I am doing the wrong writing....so...it is a good pic! :)

That is one scary looking clown...not the kind you'd want at a child's party. I love his expression.

Looks like a clown from the guild in A-M (Discworld)

Did this person know you took the portrait? There is somthing about those eyes and that strange smirk... looking forward to seeing the others.

In a way, it reminds me Cindy Sherman's clowns. A bit scary and sad.

interesting to look at (from a distance). i like the way you captured the look of aloof, not just a smiling clown(?). but truly this is a bit scary.

LOL...funny how you get so few comments on shots like these, Dave. Says a thousand words about your audience methinks. I Think this is a fine fine photograph and, as you say, micha puts it well.

I love seeing this side of you - and not just because it plays against the type that your fanbase feels so comfortable with. I love the fact that you'll still put yourself out there in that way. Brilliant portrait.
