In case you've been wondering where we've got to, we're currently taking a mid-week break at Center Parcs. Well, it's called a mid-week 'break' but, after taking all the kids cycling, swimming, walking, and everything else they expect to do when away from home, I'll be seriously in need of a holiday by the time we get back to civilization ;-)

As for this one: it's a shot of Harmony, taken this morning outside our lodge.

Nice Hat !!
That face tells me there's a lot of thinking going on in there.

I'm off to the Caribbean tomorrow, far away from the Xmas stress. Merry Xmas, Happy New year and all that.

First glance made me think she was dressed as a red Indian.
Beautiful focus and textures, but a rather busy background.. a little distracting for me

Great picture and processing. Lovely soft features.

Not sure Center Parcs is my cup of tea - I need the sunshine. Sadly not much of that here in Edinburgh.

She has a look on her face like she's about to kick you in the shins.

Which one are you at mate? I was at the Longleat one at the weekend, left Monday morning. I hope you've seen off the rapids and taken a dip in the plunge pool?!

I love this shot. What black and white was made for Dave. Really perfect, strong contrasting lines and great dof. The facial expression is good too. Even the hat has perfect contrasting black and white and competes with the horizontal lines.

OUTSTANDING ! Her face, her eyes, the yarn of her cap, ...beautifully done! (but that must have been one sour lollypop!)

I've been doing more B/W conversions using the Channel Mixer--which I learned from Nightingale AND, of course, the Chromasia tutorials, and am more pleased with each succeeding attempt, but Nightingale sets the bar. Would you mind sharing some processing comments on Harmony and the face of winter?

It is 6.6 degrees F. Don't think I'll be bike riding anytime soon.
Great photo. Love the detail, love the hat, love the smart young lady.

Is that a 'not again Dad, put that camera away' kinda look ;-) Lovely!

Nice portrait, funny look and expression. The background is drawing lots of attention. The eyes are looking great. Have a great holiday.
