If you're reading this round about the time at which it was posted Craig and I will now be somewhere between Calais (France) and Bucharest (Romania). If we've made good time we'll be an hour or so into Romania, if not then we'll be heading towards Szeged – a town on the Hungarian side on the Hungary/Romania border, and will head down through Romania tomorrow. Apparently, Romania is not a country that's good to drive through in the dark as the roads can be quite bad at times; i.e. they have the sort of potholes that you really don't want to hit at speed ;)
As I mentioned on Monday, Libby will probably be tweeting our progress, so feel free to follow her on twitter. Her twitter name is @libby_chromasia.
As for this shot: it's another portrait shot down in the souk in Dubai, taken on the same trip as this one and this one.
Let me know what you think, and I'll get back to you later this week when I sort out my internet access in Bulgaria.

Very nice portrait. Can't wait to hear how did you go through Romania... I hope it's not as bad as I said it would be :)

He's the Detective James "Sonny" Crockett of Dubai. The tones of the background and subject blend so well.

After three days hard driving Dave and Craig have reached Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. On Monday they covered England, France and Belgium; Tuesday they made amazing progress though Holland, Germany, Austria and Hungary. Today it took 13 hours to cross Romania (!), but they are now on the final stretch, and should reach their destination within the hour!
If all goes to plan, the internet should already be installed and working and they will pick up a router sometime tomorrow. By the evening they should be updating chromasia and ID7 and tweeting again!

I love the strong range of tones, the "sea" of whites and light grays with an inland of strong contrast with his face and glasses. Excellent B & W.

He looks like he'd be right at home in a New Orleans jazz club. I find myself trying to see what's reflected in his glasses. I can't quite make it out, but it draws my attention, and creates a touch of mystery.

The coolest portrait of the bunch. Again very nice in b/w. You seem to be good with strangers... Fine series.
