This is one of two shots I took of the construction work on the Nasa Multiplex building in Dubai (I'll post the second one on Thursday), both of which feature the Burj Dubai dominating the skyline in the background. Of the two I think I prefer this one, but the next one does give a much better sense of scale.
As always, let me know what you think.

They must be mad - no amount of money would persuade me to get in one of those cradle-thingumabobs! Cool shot.

I think this is a great photo adding a lot to your collection, because it tells a story and sets these monuments into the context of what's going on in Dubai. It's also a certain contrast point to your generally very clean images (which is meant very positively).
In addition, I am a lover of silhouettes, though some of my wedding photography colleagues would say it's something too cliche;-)
Thanks for sharing!

surreal!, it's like a shot of the set for Blade Runner as it was being built...

Amazing light and view in this one. I like the fact that the people are doing their work (or just watching) and not looking at you...

i love this one. it just feels crisp. the silhottes really bring it all together. nice control over the light and the framings.

I think this photograph tells more of a story than your usual work, which makes for an interesting change.
I am constantly amazed by Burj Dubai, and although this shows just how big it is, I look forward to seeing the next picture too.
I too am approaching a more relaxed period of work, so I hope to get involved with the tutorials more over the next few weeks/months.
(and although I won't be visiting Dubai any time soon, hopefully I might be able to stop by in Blackpool and try to emulate some of your existing shots!)

Terrific image. I like the choice of keeping the foreground dark, creating a nice silhouette against the city background.
Viewing this with the black theme is awesome, it really feels like you are there! Amazing job.

Has a "feels like I am right there" perspective. At the same time I wonder if it is some sort of painting on a set behind those workers. Fantastical city!

And again a nice photo! Cool contrast and composition!
I adore this shot! it's like two shots in one, very cool. You're a lucky man to be able to shoot in these amazing locations! :)

Unfortunately, a lot of money is not required to persuade people to do this sort of work:

Nevertheless, editorialising apart, it is a really dramatic image.
Amazing shot!
I would NEVER get on a rickety thing like that so high up! YIKES! Nice capture, but gives me goose bumps looking at them!
Thanks everyone :)
Superb shot, nicely framed by the construction.
Beautifully creative framing!
This shot is amazing David, even more than your usual shots. Great work!
