As promised, here's the second shot of the construction work on the Nasa Multiplex building in Dubai. As I mentioned, I think I prefer the previous one I posted – it was a bit more graphic than this one – but this shot does convey a better sense of scale, not least in terms of demonstrating that it's a long way down from the 82nd floor :)

As always, let me know what you think.

I think I'm liking this one more David! Like you said I think it shows the area a lot better than the previous one.

Actually I prefer this one. The worker just adds another elements of interest in addition to the spectaclar view. Great!

I feel sorry for the builders... everytime they want to get on with things another photographer appears... :)
The scale of that place is amazing

Great view of the city, but the inclusion of the work really makes this image for me. Lots of other interesting elements to explore as well.

What a superb shot. I love the receding, high key, almost-monochrome background. The overall feel of the image is great and really gives a sense of the scale of the scene.

I love this shot. You can see the Dubai Mall, Downtown Burj Dubai and even the Etisalat building I had to go to last week! (Probably less known this one).

Great that you have the construction worker in there so we can remind ourselves who is helping put all this fabulous stuff up.

Good Lord... glad I don't have his job. I'm getting light headed if I look at the ground next to him. I'd say that is a compliment. So much detail.

would love to see the 'before' of this

oh... and really hope you got a model release on this :-)

I do prefer this one, it's hard to place why, maybe it's the scale, or the mood, or the tones - yesterday's was nice, and well framed - but this one really drew me in to look closer.

This is an amazing photo. I love how the city looks like a matte painting.

Wow...nice picture! Dubay developed so much in the past years, and it's so modern and classy latetly! Great shot

Great perspective. Dizzying!

comment by Carlos Garcia at 11:38 PM (GMT) on 21 May, 2009

The geometry of the entire image really captures the scale and height... when you think of it, nothing in this image belongs there! Amazing shot. What an incredible passion to build... I love how the image slowly fades in color and detail from the foreground.

AWESOME! I prefer this one. The background is fantastic and the man is a superb addition to this image.

To be honest, I like this one. The colours are superb. Are they original or have you processed it to gain this muted brownish tone?
Regards.

Wow, what a perspective! I can't believe how much that building dwarves all of the others...

I think your Dubai series is stunning! I have to agree that this picture does give a sence of scale indeed. I hope that the guy did not forget to bring his lunchbox.
