Over the next week or so I'm going to start documenting our local surroundings in Bulgaria, much as Craig did during his recent visit, but in the meanwhile here's another portrait of Harmony – taken on a recent trip to Dryanovo monastery.
As with my last portrait of Harmony this was also processed in LAB Color mode rather than RGB, and the techniques I used are covered in the first and second parts of my LAB Color mode tutorials linked below:
lovely subtle tones, and the clarity in her eyes is great. love it.

Lovely portrait. Not the usual 'say cheeze' face, but instead calm with a little subtle emotion.

Dave, this picture is superb. It's got it all. It's cute and serious at the same time. The colors are phenomenal (really like your LAB color work). And it's perfectly cropped (at least for my sense of beauty). Thanks a lot for sharing.

Nicely captured and very nice editing. So subtle yet striking. The editing really helps to bring attention to her expression. Have tried some editing in LAB, but think I will have to take a look at those tutorials.

Gorgeous. Now you need to print it on fine art paper and frame it! Think I need to revisit those tutorials too.
Wonderful and beautiful photograph of your daughter Harmony. You're lucky you have such willing and beautiful subjects to work with. And Harmony is lucky that she has such a loving and caring parents that are capturing her upbringing.
Beautiful photograph David.

LOVE the processing. And when I saw it I was like "please tell me he posted the original!" And there it was! I love seeing the original! This has a very Chromasia look to it which I love. My arm is still sore from a wedding with the 70-200 2.8. Man that thing is heavy!
