This is the second of the wedding shots I'll be posting, taken at the hotel before we all left for the ceremony. From left to right we have the two best men, the groom, and the usher. And I would write more, but after the last few days of running round like a headless chicken I'm just about ready to collapse in a heap and sleep for a week.

So much traveling! I have been keeping up through Twitter.
Great moment... the picture almost has a "this was taken some time in the 1940's" feel...

I love the contrast and dynamic range of this shot! Really really love it! I wonder what is the background here? Dark sky, or some other thing?

Thanks Carlos.
Rodrigo: the background was a dark red wall, mostly in shadow, so relatively easy to turn black during post-production.

I don't know how you do it. But the greyscale is soo awesome. I love the black bakground too. It isolates the men perfectly. What kind of background was it? Or is it perhaps a studioshot?

Looks like a gang of winners :-)
Makes me remember these guys from the prohibition time.

Great shot Dave.
As mentioned already, the black background really draws out the group and the low angle and black and white make for a unique and timeless photo.

I like this, great vantage point. They look like gangsters. Looks like a wide angle even at 28mm. I like the strong black backdrop outlining the crisp and bright "poppy" figures. How is this achieved. I tend to get a pretty flat effect overall.

Nice shot David. Just upgraded to a 5D mk II + EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM from a 20D and finding it difficult to get decent DOF. F8 used to work pretty well for a fairly compact group of people, not anymore, the full frame sensor often requires f11 or more - never had so many shots with just a single sharp face and everyone else soft.

Could be Italian if there weren´t the suits. Are the two guys on the left twins?
