This is probably the last of the shots I'll be putting up from the wedding I shot in Venice a few weeks ago, and while it's not my favourite of the various ones I've posted, I am pleased with how it turned out as it was shot in less than favourable circumstances, i.e. back-lit, low light, and so on.
On a different matter: my apologies for not posting much recently, but as many of you know, I'm currently home-alone with the kids, while Libby is back in the UK waiting for our latest daughter to make an appearance. She's not due until the 11th of November, and they won't be able to fly back to Bulgaria for two weeks after that, so my updates might be rather infrequent between now and then.
I will be heading out to Dubai again though - November 19-22 - as I'm one of the instructors at the GPP Fotoweek event, alongside Bobbi Lane, Robin Nichols, David Tejada, and Chris Hurtt. It should be a great event, and if you're interested in attending, there's a full list of all the workshops here:

A fine shot starting the weekend. A funny girl, your pictures about this wedding are what I expect from my own wedding one day. You're booked! :D

A technically great shot, but are you happy with the strange gesture of the bride? I guess she is covering her mouth so you can't see her lunch while she is smiling, which is a bit odd.
Just the way it strikes me ...

I really like this one for the interplay between the bride and groom. Their expressions are great and, whatever the source of humour, isolating them in the frame has made it appear they're sharing a private joke. I actually like her gesture - she looks slightly coy.
Really nice set of wedding shots.

I've enjoyed all of these and appreciate this one as well. Noticing the masks, I would love to see how you would process a color version of this image. Dubai! Your photos from there are among my favorite!

I was immediately taken by the almost monochromatic background (the wall) AND the foreground (the table) with the bride and groom (the key subject(s) ) in crisp, high contrast. They really stand out in other words.

Nicki: cool :)
Jeremy: I think I'm with Adrian on this one, i.e. coy rather than anything else.
Carlos: I did try for a colour version, but as I'd deliberately overexposed the original I couldn't get the colour balance quite white and the blown out areas looked blown out rather than high key. B&W can hide a multitude of sins :)

Hi Dave, I haven't commented on any of these images from the wedding set, but I have to say very impressive. You might end up becoming a full time professional wedding photographer if you keep this up.
Good luck with the new family arrival. Between Libby, your 5 daughters and a 6th on the way, you realize you and Finley are seriously out numbered.

David, you remind me to keep shooting. I get in slumps and come back to get a burst of motivation.
You caught such a great moment here. and that's what wedding photography is truly about.
