I have one more 'winter lake' image to post after this one, but this is the last that features a mirrored reflection. Of the three, I think that the first is my least favourite, but I can't decide whether I prefer this one to the last one. Either way though, I guess it doesn't much matter as I'm quite pleased with how all of them turned out.
Let me know which is your favourite.
And if you're interested, the (not quite as interesting) original is here:

That's lovely. Would you ever consider removing the pylons and power lines to take the modernity out of it?

David, I think I prefer the previous one to this. Although this is really nice, for me, the colour in the second one makes it a winner.

Hi Dave, the first one is definitely not my favorite of the three. However, it is tough call between this one and the previous one. I think I am leaning more towards this one than the previous image. I do like them both, I enjoy this nature scene more because of the tree distribution, the clarity in the reflection, composition and the choice of cropping over the previous one. I do like the color toning in the previous one. I tried to visualize this image with the color toning from the previous image. it seems that it might not work as well with this one. Did you try adding some color to this one before converting? I am also surprise that you did not clone out the power lines. Can't wait to see the fourth image.

Dave,
I like the tones of the previous one. This is beautiful... just a preference for the previous post.

David - a lot like the first one and I love it just as much. In one way I agree with Tim above, but in another way I think the power lines make it more balanced
Top notch - again!

Well, we're in a bit of a debate now because the first and 3rd are my favorites. When the 2nd was posted I asked myself why it fell flat for me and went between the two pictures. I love the first one and further analysis led me to see that I like the strong lines of the trees and their reflection which create depth in the composition. The second image is flat and one dimensional. Although I am a fan of monotone it just didn't have emotional impact for me. I'm sorry that your favorite doesn't really work for me...but from where your sitting :) :) I was wondering if the third image is a panaromic. The curve or arched composition causes it to hover in space a bit. In the first photo the sky was slightly peach which grounded the image. I do like this sky though. To determine my favorite I'd have to see them up onthe wall :) Ah shoots. It's not going to happen.
I wondered about the power lines myself but decided they're in. I'm a fan of Monet and am working through my resistence of nature's demise brought on by the modern world.

Another nice image. Love the tone. Powerlines and all play well for me, love the reflections. The last one is still my favorite.

April: it's a crop rather than a panorama.
