This one was taken from the same vantage point as my shot towards our village, and while there was definitely something about it that I liked, the original composition didn't work:
Once I decided to alter the crop ratio though (from 4x3 to 16x9), flip the image horizontally, and darken and tone the image, I was a lot happier with it. As always, let me know what you think.

Dark and brooding with the light of dawn bringing hope from the east.
Sorry don't know why I came over all poetic there... must be that Friday feeling!
I love the clarity of the power lines leading down into the misty hills.

Whooo thats a master piece! I looked for long how you stretch the capture to 16x9 - have you faked the mountains on the right side? So impressive ...

Dave,
Thanks for posting the original. Congratulations on your artwork here. Don't know how you "found" the coloring, but the transformation from the original is stunning.
Amazing composition .... abnd the colour is fantastic !!!

Very nice David! I think it's the color pallet but it makes me think of some kind of post apocalyptic vision.

Certainly a dramatic looking shot.

I can see why you wouldn't particularly care for the original. I like the feeling that you created here with the color toning and lighting gradient. The image also improves with the flip. Isn't it amazing how simply changing the orientation of a given scene can please the brain and eyes.

The sky looks fantastic and very moody. Plenty of atmosphere here and the power lines almost look science fiction.

Hmm. To be honest I'm not too sure about this. The colours and atmosphere are great but everything looks a little awkward and/or out of place to me.
I think it would work better if you cropped in from the right more and sorted out the vertical distortion of the power thingy.
But overall not bad. (But who am I to criticize...)
